The manual for your printer is included on the CD that came with your printer. It is provided in the PDF format, so you will need an Acrobat Reader to use it. This is a very common software package used by hundreds of millions of computer owners. If you do not have the program on your system, you can get the latest version by going to the following web site.
http://www.adobe.com
You can also find it using the Kodak AiO Home Center Software by clicking on the help icon. The help icon is the ? symbol near the upper right corner of the Home Center software. Clicking this button will reveal the help section to the right.
The help section is very useful in many ways, and provides links to the user's guide and another section called Guide Me. You can use these links to get more information on how your printer works. Once you have the users guide open you can print the manual out on your new printer if a hardcopy is needed.
You can also view, download, and print the users guide from our website. Please visit the URL below.

The first thing you should try is running a printhead cleaning using the kodak software or from the local user interface on the printer. from the printer press the [menu] button. press the down arrow untill Clean Printhead is highlighted. press the [OK] button. Select "Deap Clean" and press [OK]. If this does not work you can mannually clean it. You can search online for how to clean inkjet printheads. I use distilled or de-ionized water and a LINT-FREE cloth. Dont use paper towls or anthing that could leave lint behind and clogg the nozzels. when you wipe the printhead make sure you only wipe in the direction of the nozzels, with the grain. Do not use a circular motion. You want to wipe from the front to the back or back to front of the printhead. Not left to right. I hear windex works as well but i have never tried it. Do some research online and use you best judgment. If none of this works you may have to contact kodak and see about getting a new printhead, they dont sell them sepeartly.
Good luck!
SOURCE: kodak 5300 wont print on glossy side of photo paper
I just sussed this issue out. On the front of the printer tray there is another pull out tray, this opens up and must activate the photo printing for A4 because it stops the paper falling on the floor once printed (cos once printed on photo paper it may still be wet). As soon as I opened the tray (and it then opens again - you'll see what I mean) it printed A4 photo paper perfectly
Hope this helps others
SOURCE: Printer will not print properly, say photo tray not engaged.
take out the photo tray if you can and put it back into its place /
turn off the printer and turn it back on . if it works fine if it does not ,the sensor is bad .
it gives you this message only if the paper try is not inserted properly or it is a false error message .

Call Kodak tech support at 1-800-421-6699. Tell them that you are missing colors and have already tried cleaning and reseating the printhead (which I recommend you try first). Normally they will send you out a new one for free.
Clean the print head then print a demo sheet.
