I want to be an actress (13) but I can't afford lessons?

Okay, so this might be kind of long, I know it's very clich?, but I want to act. I'm almost 13, the exact same age as my ~idol~ Millie Bobby Brown. I've admired her work from 'Stranger Things' and 'Intruders' and her personality. But I don't have experience and I can't afford acting lessons, but I'm saving up. Another problem is the area I live. I live in a small but populated well for its size, city in eastern Canada. There are a few places for acting classes, with "trained professionals" but what if they aren't good enough? I'm willing to leave my friends and move schools for a role in something but I know that can only be achieved by experience. My school doesn't have an acting or visual arts program and I've asked, there's no hope for one to start. Any advice? Again, THERE ARE NO ACTING CLUBS, PLAYS OR DRAMA CLUBS AT MY SCHOOL Ooops caps lock sorry ^^

Can you start a club at your school? Or just start an acting club with your friends. Find a few plays in the library and try reading through them.

Should I try to be an actor without any training? There are a list of good actors who never had training.?

For every actor who succeeded without training, there are a thousand who didn't. Acting is an extremely competitive business. You can only help yourself more by getting trained. Even trained actors have an unemployment rate of around 50%!

How did you get discovered? Or became an actor?

You become an actor by acting.

Start with your local community theater and/or area theater troupes. Audition often, even while you're not very good. Ask actors that you see at those auditions (especially those who are good) where reputable acting classes are and then take them.

Study good actors. There are online master classes from actors you can watch. Take an improv class (or two).

In other words, treat acting like any other art form: study, practice, work.

Is acting hard? Just wondering how actors memorize hundreds of pages of lines do they have like a time limit?

If you understand the material and the motivation of the character it will help you to memorize because you will understand why the character is saying whatever he or she is saying at that time. So find a script with a small part and begin to practice with a friend. This is something you can do on your own without going to school but it will help you if you ever get a part.

I want to be an actress?

That is exactly right. Just start practicing with a friend or sign up for a class. Why would you expect to be good at something you have never tried.

How does an introvert become an actor?

Acting is NOT about being loud. Extroverted people *tend* to land more roles because they are willing to take risks and they put themselves in lots of auditions. Over and over and over again.

If you want to learn how to become more comfortable auditioning and acting in general, I recommend an improv class or two. Beginner classes are specifically for people with little to no experience on stage (at local improv theaters).

Michele,
The word actor refers to a person who acts regardless of gender. The Dictionary states that originally the term Actor was used for both sexes.
