Combination lock won't close - Locks & Locksmithing

To change the combination on a Set-Your-Own combination lock model 646D, 647D, or 646T, follow these steps:

• With dials at 0-0-0, pull out shackle.
• Turn shackle counterclockwise 90° (1/4 turn) and press it down.
• Continue pressing shackle and turn another 90° (1/4 turn).
• Set the dials to your own combination.
• Turn shackle clockwise back to the original 90° position. Lift and return shackle to closed position.

Push the lock shackle together.!

While it's pushed together, change any or all of the digit rollers.

It is now locked.!

Lubricate the inside with WD-40 or similar, do the full combination and attempt again to close (DO NOT lock anything when trying this). If it still won't close buy a new lock.

To set a new combination:
The initial combination is set at the
factory to 0-0-0-0
1. Open the compartment door
2. Push the reset lever left and down.
The lever remains in this position
3. Rotate dials to your desired combination
4. Push the reset lever, up and right, back
to the original position
5. Close the key storage compartment door
6. Scramble the combination dials to lock
the door and conceal your combination
7. Close the shutter door

I hate to say this, because Masterlock makes a fine product: It sounds like something inside the wheel assembly is broken. If it's still under warranty, send it to Mster Lock for a replacement. If not, replace it with a Corbin Sesame. Corbin originated the design, and they've been making the lock for several decades, now.

same problem with the spinner model.
My suitcase is open but since I dont have the lock combination (3 digits) I can't close it (not lock it, just close the case) . The combination changed when the case was open - is there a way to reset it ?

my mother in law has a norton suit case and needs keys the number on the lock is 332 norton do not excist anymore where can i get replacment keys from?

Instructions:
Opening the key storage
compartment door
1. Open shutter door to reveal the dials
and the release button
2. Rotate dials to the current combination
(if the lock is new, the combination is set
at the factory to 0-0-0-0)
3. Press down on the release button
to open the door
4. Pull the door fully open
5. Add or remove keys
6. Close compartment door
7. Scramble the combination dials to lock
the door and conceal your combination (A)
8. Close the shutter door (B)

to open shackle

4. Place shackle around door knob or other object
5. Close shackle to lock
6. Close the compartment door
7. Scramble the combination dials to lock
the door and conceal your combination (A)
8. Close the shutter door (B)
Reminder:
(A) The release button will open the lock
until you scramble the dials
(B) Keep the shutter door closed to increase
weather resistance and to conceal the
dials from view
