Panasonic DMR-EH60 DVD Recorder/HDD Recorder Logo
Posted on Jul 19, 2009

Everything has been working perfectly for 3 years or so/ done nothing different, use almost exclusively the HDD on my DMR-EH60, then suddenly the TV no longer responds to my commands. Unit goes off and on (it's not batteries in remote) and even seems to be playing a recording when 'told' so to do.Nothing is showing on screen, not even functions etc.?? Have I inadvertently touched something? I've tried as much as I dare without changing settings etc. even unplugged the lot for a few minutes. I'm afraid I don't really understand the manual and cannot find this problem there anyway. It's probably TINY! Oh it (display on box) says NAV1 when direct navigator pressed and A1(correct), but R5:12 rest of time unless I press PLAY then it shows T:57 and time ticking... press STOP back to NAV1. Very confused aren't I! Please please help.

The DMR-EH60 has been working fine for a good five years then it started intermittedly loosing sound when using it as tuner for our display panel. Now there is not sound at all even recordings from TV onto the HDD. Any ideas?

I had some wine over my controle.i cleaned it.and now it given a remote dvd 2 at the .i did enter and 1 but it does nothing.i try to reset the system but nothing works.if i put a button ythan he...

Sounds like the unit is in remote command mode 2 (DVD 2) - and you set the remote incorrectly, since you said you did ENTER and 1 on it. You can try to reset the remote to command mode 2 (DVD 2) by pressing (and holding) ENTER and 2 (together) - for 5 - 10 seconds - on the remote while pointing it at the unit, then release. The remote should now match/command the unit correctly and fully (unit must be turned on when doing this and should always be done whenever batteries are replaced in the remote).

This hopefully should work for you.

Muted on Cerain Channels on Zenith SE2795W TV

Somewhere in it's lifetime, a user has set the 'user preference' to 'mute' while this channel was active. I don't know your specific set, but most TV's need a remote to work 'mute'.
Second hand set?
[A] check all buttons on TV for a crossed-out speaker symbol, or
[B] buy a universal remote and select pin for your set. Then,
Try these:
ZENITH - 000,001,004,023,038,058,059,064,073,121,135,136,153

Can't Finalize a disk on Panasonic DMR-EH60 DVD Recorder

It sounds like you haven't selected DVD first. When dubbing to DVD, you need to do this in HDD mode. When finalizing, you need to be in DVD mode for the finalizing options to come up.

Unlock code to play any dvd and record to hard drive

You need a special remote, there are no codes. Have a google for "panasonic region free" and you'll see what I mean. I have the same model and had to take to a dealer to unlock for me. Panasonic are a bit unfriendly about unlocking dvds as I think they are part of the whole DVD organisation. there are ways to do it with a Palm device or something like it (even a pc with IR port) but it is tricky. You can also rent a suitable remote for about £20 I think, again google it and you'll find companies that offer that.
Hope that help, though I guess you may have sorted it by now as you posted about 6 months ago,
Stu.
