Maytag MSD2650HES leaks out the bottom when we use the door water dispenser. It's 10 years old. Is it worth fixing or should we just replace it?

inspect the ice make to check for any sign of visible damage or misalignment, .and unplug the fridge and plug it again

there is normally an "O" ring seal around the shaft of the tap and it is replaceable as it is 10 years old the shaft will have corrosion on it so a fix may not last long
you can get replacement tap inserts from a plumbers supplies

The hose that goes to the water dispenser most likely has a crack in it somewhere inside the door. Usually the heat from the light in the door deteroriates the hose and lets water leak inside the door every time the dispenser is used.

If it is a frost free unit the water collects in a well at the compressor , there is a heater element in the well that boils off the water , this is were the fault is.

I will assume the leak is at the front on one of the corners of the door. We had this problem and it appeared to be caused by someone mistakenly placing too much weigh on the door when it was open. Our solution was to bend the door back in the opposite direction to get it "re-aligned". Hope it works for you too.

Regretfully ours just died after 10 years of service. Hoping to find a repair manual online.

the water for the dispenser (ice/water dispenser in the freezer door) comes from under the frige then up thru the bottom hinge of the freezer door .. it then goes inside the door up to the dispenser .. its a plastic hose and it has to twist near the hinge each time the door is opened .. thats where it usually breaks or develops a pin hole leak .. you can replace the whole hose or just the damaged section if that easier ... since the bottom freezer.hinge where that hose comes up thru, is at the position of your leak then i suspect thats your trouble ... ..also check the condensate pan to make sure its not full .. thats a flat pan under the fridge ..you can usually get acess to it by removing the front kick panel at the bottom of the frige .. if thats full then look for a door seal leak (damaged rubber seal) ... a broken seal or open door will allow moisture to condense inside the machine ..that runs down into the condensate pan where it normally evaporates .. but a problem (like open door) will fill it up to overflow in time ....

it could be the pump but there is a seal in the tube where the transmissin goes through the tub that seal has a common problem of leaking but if it 10 years old i would replace the machine

maytag has several great models and absolytly worth it remeber u get what u pay for . and any fridge u buy get the extened warranty that way no worries for awhile

sounds like seal leak in tub water is leaking onto drive unit and washing over it bring and oil it can with it couls be big bucks some parts may be under warranty call service but be sure to get estimate first
