There are a number of causes....but most of the time something in he speaker section is shorted. Turn off the stereo...Remove all connected speakers from the back...turn it back on. Is the error message still there? If so its internal...if not turn off again and attach one speaker at a time, turning the stereo off to add each speaker. until error. You could have a shorted speaker or wire or too many speakers.

I've done those steps. Without wires attached, the stereo turns on without the overload message. When I attached one speaker and turned it on, it didn't have overload message. I thought eureka, I found the speaker. The next time I turned the stereo on, without the right speaker wire attached, the left speaker was the culprit. My current fix is to remove all speaker wires, turn it on, attach the wires.

Overload control show diagram

It sounds like you are drawing too much power. Pull all the power from it and try again without ANY load on it. If it comes up in the overload condition, then the inverter has problems and needs to be looked at by a qualified tech.

My inverter shows overload with no load

I've had a couple of inverters do that. In both cases, one or more of the switching transistors, or scr's, went bad. If they short, the unit will show overload.

Receiver

If the display shows overload, you are playing it too loud, or have too many speakers connected. Overload is a protection method used to shut down the unit, before it's damaged.

I have a Noma Digital Decorating Instant Light Show Timer and I cannot find the instruction sheet on how to use it. It has 19 preprogrammed light shows and the display shows OL and will not let me reset...

the manual says each unit has a maximum load of 3 amps (abt 7 one hundred mini light sets). when ANY INDIVIDUAL outlet is overloaded,ALL lights will turn off and an outlet overload message (OL) will be displayed. To reset, unplug unit, then unplug some of the lights in the outlet that appears to be overloaded and plug unit back in
