Your leak is most likely in the boot. The rubber gasket between the drum and the front of machine. Sounds like when the element was catching it created a hole in the boot. Common problem also expensive and labor intensive. Sorry to be the barer of bad news.

You will have to remove front panel of washer , and replace the heater, and heater retaining plate, which is the piece that has come off.

Yes this did solve the problem thank you very much but we now have a leak that we did not have before. Still seaching for source. It at the front somewhere
