The problem with the television is the lamp. It is faulty that is why the screen turns wavy in minutes.

The solution to that is to replace the light and your television will be in good condition once again.

Unplug the TV from the ac wall outlet for about 4 minutes then plug it back in and turn it on. If it still has a double image then tell me if it's affecting the menu screen from the TV (not the cable menu). And is the double image in red and blue?
