SOURCE: Water over flow

Depends on the model. It could be a water switch that is sticking or a motor in the icemaker running to slow. My advise is to replace the faceplate of the icemaker. Part #150

SOURCE: WATER FREEZING IN ICE MAKER

check 2 things. Make sure the fill tube is going downwards to the cup inside. The second thing is when the valve shuts off make sure it closes right away. If it doesnt then replace the valve.

SOURCE: ice cubes are hollow, freezing cycle too short

You don't specify a model number, but if it's one of the CLR series (e.g. CLR60, CLR2060, CLR2160) there is a small tan colored adjustable resistor 'dial' on the small circuit board located just beneath the ice bin, behind the front access panel. It should look like a round disk with teeth and has markings on it for -2, -1, 0, 1, 2.... Turn it up to +1 (or if it is already there, up one setting). Stop and restart the ice cycle. Wait 24 hours and see if that's enough or too much, and adjust further based on that. Do NOT adjust more than 1 setting in a day, per the user's manual. (And this information is IN the user's manual, so it's suggested reading.) If you don't have a CLR-series unit, then I don't know.

The ice maker line freezes. I have thawed it, gotten water flow and one set of cubes but the line freezes again before in the time it takes to freeze the first set of cubes. What should I check next?

Check the water pressure or any filters in the water line or a crimp in the supply tube. Also make sure you totally defrost where the water enters the ice maker.

Water leaking than freezing on floor of lower draw under ice maker in subzero 700tf freezer

If cubes are very large the ice maker may be overfilling and need the fill adjusted to allow less water into the maker. Otherwise check the fill tube (runs from the back wall to ice maker) for loose connections or cracked tubing. (In this instance the cubes would be smaller than usual.) If neither of these is the source, then look up to the highest point of ice (water flows downhill) for the origin. Suspect a stopped up defrost drain. Thaw and clear ice, then clear drain tube (DO NOT use a wire for this) with warm water and a turkey baster. Once water is flowing through tube and into drain pan under the unit the problem should be solved.

Ice maker fill tube freezing

There is a possibility that the water valve isn't closing completely leaving just enough space for a drop or two of water to make its way and freeze in the tube, but more than likely the fill tube is a plastic one and little divots have formed retaining water and freezing up. These divots may not even be visible to the ***** eye. A good solution is to switch to a rubber fill tube which is less likely to have this problem.

Ice cube tray does not fill up water feeding tube is frozen.

The problem you are having is caused by water leaking past the=> MJX42111401 Water Inlet Valve Change the MJX42111401 Water Inlet Valve and this will solve the water freezing between ice harvest. On most refrigerators this part can be found on the back of refrigerator and near floor, Let me know if you have other questions, Thanks Sea Breeze

My ice maker has a slow leak so it eventually turns the cubes into one giant cube. Do you know how I could fix this??

Hello,

The reason the fill tube is freezing is because the tube that connects to it and connects to the water inlet valve is seeping water slowly. It's just enough water to trickle into that tube at the top and since its so cold that little trickle freezes, then the next trickle freezes and so on and so on. After enough small drops of water freeze the entire tube is frozen. To stop that replace the water inlet valve the small diameter tube connects to.

The Ice maker does not make cubes.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

If it overfills and drips, look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water.

If it continuously drips, replace the water inlet valve on the back where the house water supply comes in.

No water in ice maker mold

may have a bad valve . but try this first . put about 6 to 8 oz of water in icemaker / when it freezes it will call for a harvest. / if it dumps the ice cubes / at this time the ice maker will call for a refill . if valve is ok it will refill . also ck the water inlet tube to the ice tray . they some times will freeze with ice thus blocking the water fill. hot water up the tube will correct this problem. hope this helped .. mm feed back pls ..

Ice maker doesn't work

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it freezes and dumps the cubes , but doesn't fill with water , replace the water inlet valve ( the piece that the wall water line connects to on the fridge ) . Also check to be sure that the fill tube from the back of the freezer to the ice maker , isn't blocked with ice , as this is caused by a seeping bad water valve . If the ice maker doesn't dump the cubes , after freezing , then replace the ice maker . Also check to make sure the coils under the front of the refrig , are clean of dust , lint , pet hair , etc.

Water freezes before getting to ice tray

sounds as if your water inlet valve is not closing fast enough allowing a small amoutn of water to accummulate in fill tube freezing and eventually freezing solid, would try replacing water inlet valve, or even the water filter if this model is so equipped
