My Samsung Blu Ray H4500 when Blu Ray DVDs are being used there is no voice sound music plays and background noises are heard but no people voices with surround sound. It works for the commercials.

someone messed with audio settings. you will need the remote.

Make sure you have a center speaker hooked up as most voice tracks come through the center channel.

Check the inter connections. Wire break might be the reason.

Either the player or the set it is hooked to may have in the audio settings a "Hall" or similar setting--background will be louder than people speaking---its a setting.

What is brand of TV? (Toshiba?)

You may be trying to play a Blu Ray movie with only a 2 speaker setup. If you do that, you won`t be able to hear the voices because the Blu Ray player is sending just the left and right audio channels and not sending the center channel because there is no speaker for it. If you only have 2 speakers, then check your manual for the option to change that 5.1 channel audio stream into a 2 channel so the voices will show up in the left and right speakers.

Try changing from surround sound to normal

Change your audio setup to stereo. if you are running two speakers

Go to sound menu of dvd player and select Stereo sound and if surround is enabled, disable it.
You can get help from user manual of dvd player.

Coby dvd plays background music and all previews( music and voices ) but the actual movie we cannot hear voices only back voices and music can be heard.
