46" LCD TV from Samsung, had it for about 5 years now. Started to get colored vertical lines on the TV. After about 5-10 mins of being turned on they go away. I have read this could be a bad T-CON board, but not 100% sure.
Hi,
The t con broad is faulty. Just replace it will solve the problem.

its called burn in and yes it can go away over time.
Be sure to not leave a static image on the screen (like a paused video) and leave it for an extended period of time.
playing video with high brightness and fast moving action can further help the problem go away.

They go away after 10 minutes of what? **** She Wrote? Dancing with the Stars? Or simply being powered On? You have some cold solder joints on one of the PCB boards. Once they heat up they work perfectly. The only way to fix this is to have them reflowed by a tech with a soldering tool or have the board replaced. Good luck! Cheers

had a very similar situation with my Phillips 42 in. LCD TV.
Here was my Problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened it up( Warranty
was Expired) and found several faulty capacitors on the PSB. Its
pretty common. Major Electronic companies were sold faulty capacitors
that fail in 2-5 years instead of 10-20 due to a lack of
preservatives. It wouldn't surprise me if you have the same problem.
TV will work fine for a few years and then just fail completely or
slowly deteriorate.
Here are the solutions
1. Have it Repaired
2. Check for faulty caps and if you find some(budged or leaking) you know you have located a problem
Remove the board and replace the whole thing.
3. If you have some soldering skills you can replace the faulty caps.
Caps are very inexpensive, under a dollar in most cases. I replaced 4 for about $5.00
Hope this Helps.
Good Luck

Hi,
Basically it is problem of LCD Panel (screen) however some times T-Con board replacement fixed the issue (T-Con board is part of lcd panel but some part shop sell it separately). Main board is not related with this kind of problem.
Required T-Con board is available in ShopJimmy.com (click the link to view available boards)
If T-Con board replacement does not solve half screen vertical lines problem then LCD Panel will be replaced and it would cost approx new tv price.
Hope this info will help.
Thanks.

Hi jonathan birkenstamm, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box?
Can you please post the picture of the fault?
I will try to get a picture. It doesn't always show up. When I do see the vertical multi-color lines they disappear after about 5-10 mins. I think they show up when the TV is cold and go away when they components start to heat up. But once I see it again I will take a picture of them. Thank you for the help.
I added a picture of the lines I see sometimes when I turn on my TV. These vertical colors went away under 5 mins of having the TV on and didn't return. This is what I have been seeing on an off/on basis for the past month.
Thank you everyone for the help and answer.
