You need to take the covers off to reveal the chassis there is a part in the corner that is taller then the rest of the parts it has two solder posts on it, its called the capstan motor, you need to apply power to the posts and the tape will come out but be careful when taking the tape out because the ribbon wont go back into the tape.

How do I clean the head when it gives you an alert?

two ways, buy a mini dv cleaning cassette, two if you do not have one, put the cam in play mode, hit play, than fast forward button for a min, the tape going fast sometimes cleans the head. not just fast forward but play, than ff so the tape is hitting the head, other than that, the cam has to be taken apart and the heads cleaned with the proper cleaning solution and PROPER brush as not to hurt the fragile heads

Have a jvc camcorder turn on and it says safe mode remove battery

Forget the battery, the mini dv carrage assy can get out of sync and initiate the safe mode, if you noticed a problem loading the tape or have heard a gear skip sound thats the problem. The best you can do with those camcorders is keep the tape in the camcorder!!!!! That will prevent the problem and insure many good years of recording.

Sorry,

Tim.

Rca CC9360 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

Usually this occurs when the door latch release mechanism is broken. This mechanism is located on the basket where you push the tape in and it's job is to open the tape "door" on the cassette that you insert. Unfortunately, the only fix for this is to replace the cassette basket. I know your camcorder is actually made by JVC, but I don't have access to a manual so I can't supply a part number for you.

Cassette door is not closing

Your loading motor is no longer working or your mechanism is out of alignment.

01 error code - unit in safeguard mode

I solved the problem! Open the video cassette door. Look closely at the gear mechanism and see if there is any small debris in the gears. If not, using a magnifying glass and a paper clip(must stretch it out and use the tip) gently move each gear(gently). I had my unit ON. Once I moved the gear it became unstuck and ejected Mini DV cassette. I then re-inserted the cassette and it worked. The dreaded SAFEGAURD MODE message was gone and it is as good as new.

E04

Here's what i found. I was able to clear the message by opening and closing and ejecting the cassette. I also had to play with the battery at the same time. Keeping the cassette door open and then pulling out the battery. After is did this a couple of times i got the message to clear. I too haven't used my camcorder for some time and now that the error message has cleared the camcorder tells me that i need to clean the heads. Hope this helps. Below is the message i found that pointed me toward ejecting the cassette. An error indication (E03 or E04) appears. - (E03 or E04 UNIT IN SAFEGUARD MODE REMOVE AND REATTACH BATTERY) This massage a malfunction of some kind has occurred. In this case the camcorder's functions become unusable. - Eject the cassette once and re-insert it, then check if the indication clears. When it does, you can resume using the camcorder. If the indication remains, consult your nearest JVC dealer or service center
