GLGH1642FS won't spin whites dry. Replaced control timer on front panel. Whites still sopping wet when done.

  • tzolt Jul 08, 2009

Thanks, my question probably wasn't clear. It's the washer that's not spinning the whites dry. Spins colors cycle okay, just won't spin on the whites cycle. Even after the new timer unit, no go.

Hi this is going to be the speed control board not the timer, the machine spins at different speeds depending on which setting you put the machine...you can access the speed control board by taking the bottom panel off. you should see it located at the rear right or middle left of the machine...looks like a box with a circuit board in it..they are quite easy to change but not cheap :( Hope this helps, feel free to comment again if you have any questions. Good luck. Mike

Hi there,

step 1- remove the face of the dryer, then remove the cover for the fan, check to see if object is blocking the fan, if object is there , remove object, if not go to step 2
step 2- check to see if the belt is broken, if the belt is broken replace the belt.
step 3 - remove the belt from the motor and turn the dryer on, if the motor doesn’t turn then you need to replace the motor.
These are the only causes.

Post further comment for more help.
Good Luck!!

Thanks

If the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley or a broken pump belt. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it. If the pump belt is broken or looks quite worn, replace it--but be sure to check the pump pulley before you change the belt.

It seems that there is some problem with the pump belt or pump itself.

I have a WSXH208 ge front loader It started to fill was and then in the middle the water pumped out but did not finish and clothes were sopping wet, Drum stopped spinning. what could be wrong

all front loaders will not go into high spped spin if there is water in the tub.You should first remove the bottom panel and check the water pump for blockage. Some units have a sscrew style filter to catch debris befor it enters the pump impellor.when you unscrew the filter make sure you have a wet vac handy.

When the wash is done the clothes are sopping wet. I tried putting fewer clothes in and they are still very wet. Checked the drain hose for a kink and it seems to be fine.

motor coupler-to test restart the washer in it's spin cycle, let the washing machine run for one minute, then open the lid and check to see if the tub is spinning. if it's spinning the coupler is fine. if it is not then the coupler needs to be replaced, can be purchased at any appliance parts store. good luck!

Thor laundry system won't dry clothes I have a thor no venting washer/dryer combo machine, that has been working fine for years. Suddenly it is not drying clothes and instead, clothes are soaking wet...

I am having the same problem on a WD9900A. The wash cycle works great. Spins fast and clothes are completely rung out. Dryer cycle heats up well. Fluffs and heats cloths. At some point during dry cycle water is injected on clothes and they end up sopping wet; much wetter than after wash. Filter is clear. Outlet pipe clear and functions well. Possible problem with dryer timer? Or washer timing kicking back on?

My clothe come out very wet at the end of the wash cycle

If the pump is clogged and can't release all the water it won't go into final high spin. Remove lower cover and locate coin catch and unscrew it. Water will come out, so be ready. If it's full of stuff, this is probably the problem.

After the wash cycle is complete the clothes are still wet.

Open the machine and remove the drain pump. Clean out any debris and try again.
Remove the front panel.
The pump should be directly in front of you. Open it and clean it.
This procedure will have to be done occasionally.

After the spin cycle, my clothes are still sopping wet.

Yes, you are on the right track. Drain maybe clogged. Under the front door is a panel with 3 screws, remove the panel; then unscrew the white looking plug, it may be hard to turn if there is a bunch of **** in drain. be prepared to get wet. Once you have cleaned this out, turn the cycle knob to any position but spin, then unplug washer for at least 30 seconds, this will reset the control board.
Good Luck!

Front end Washer not spinning

youll need to gain access to and clean out the drain pump assy, the most common issue is that the drain pump is clogged, cant drain water therefore cannot spin.
