It says this issue was solved. It absolutely was not. Evidently, there's no answer. I have the same problem.

SOURCE: I have a Whirlpool Duet

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

As you have already tried cleaning the vent then the problem is with the Thermister which reads open and even the thermal fuse has continuity, also test the thermostat for continuity, the control board is fine it is this part that is causing the problem again and again. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

How do I fix an f22 error code?

On the back of the blower housing(fan that makes air move through the dryer), there is a thermal fuse called a thermistor. The F22 error code you're getting means that this safety fuse has opened and must be replaced. The part# is 8577274 and is designated #40 on the exploded parts diagram. This is an INVOLVED repair. Most of the thermal fuses can be reached by removing the rear cover of the dryer and are located on the heater box. This one, however, is accessed by removing the entire front of the dryer, including the front bulkhead assembly to expose the blower housing. Here is the exploded parts view from Parts Select, their part# is PS993287 and costs 20 bucks and change, http://www.partselect.com/MultiModels.aspx?ModelNum=wed6600&searchTerm=&RefineSearch=0. If you aren't comfortable with this level of disassembly, DEFINITELY call for a service tech to do the repair!

Kenmore elite dryer 11063942101 works if I force the switch to stay in the on position but won't start by just pressing the switch. Replaced pust-to-start switch. Same problem. Vacuuming out the areas...

The problem is definitely not the motor but rather the motor relay or the electronic control. Either the motor relay is not working to close the motor circuit or the electronic control is not powering up the motor relay to serve its function.

The motor relay and the heater relay are identical and can be used interchangeably. The heater relay may be used in place of the motor relay if the dryer heats up when the start switch is held on. It indicates that the heater relay is working.

Disconnect power to the dryer then pull the end cap trims off then remove the control panel securing screws. Once the screws are removed, rotate the control panel up to the rear of the dryer.

Disconnect the wires and remove the relays then put each in the place of the other. Refer to the component layout diagram for the location of the relays.

2e8938c.jpg

Reconnect the wires then rotate the control panel down back into position then plug the dryer in and start it. The dryer should start and continue to run when the start switch is released since the working heater relay is used but will not heat up indicating that the motor relay is not working. Otherwise the fault is in the electronic control.

Replace the faulty component and it should address the problem. The relay (heater/motor) is part number
3405281 and the electronic control is part number W10116565.

Squeeze on the electronic control mounting bracket as shown then pull the board up to remove.
ea81c44.jpg

Insert the new control board and gently press it down into position. Transfer the wires from the old board to the new board one at a time.

Simply unscrew the relay to be replaced then secure the new one into position and transfer the wires.

Rotate the control panel down and secure it back into position to complete the repair.

Kenmore Elite Electric Dryer, Model # 110.8586400, Control Panel Lights inoperative, But Drum Light works fine. I am going to try this procedure, Will let you know if it works. Jay/ Jacksonville Florida...

I followed that procedure, Taking the Electronic Control Unit out of the dryer, Blow Drying the printed circuit Board (PCB) Board out and reseating P3 and P4, Worked fine.. No moisture was found in the Drum area. I forgot to tag the TECH SHEET FOR this particular dryer . But punch in Tech sheet , Part # 8546206 into google, this gives Schematic and valuable Troubleshooting steps, The only thing i could not find was the pin to pin test on chekcing the individual switches on the main functions, Suppose to be 14 pins I only found 13. But in all drying the PCB board and reseating the plugs worked for me. Again the symptons were no Light indication on ANY button depressed but the drum light was on. Great Site, Not a first time user

The heat on our 2 year old Cabrio dryer just stopped working for no apparent reason. Everything but the heat appears to be functioning normally. Help!

Thermostat controls heat. There is also a motor centrifugal switch, in the element circuit, that the motor closes to insure the motor is turning. Try another heat setting. There is more than one thermostat. You may have blown the 'thermal fuse' too, which requires replacement.
It is possible that your element has failed also.

Tripped high limit. Must clean the lint filter and the exhaust vent tube and all the way in to the dryer. Hot air exit is restricted.

Another Whirlpool Cabrio Sensing issue

Hi-- none of the solutions I've read here are working. Same problem, dryer not starting, it says "Sensing..." and then "Wet" and does nothing. It worked fine on the last load, except I noticed it read 11 minutes for a very, very long time (I think it got stuck). New load? "Sensing..." etc.
