Make sure you bought genuine Sanyo chips...if not goto www.TvRepairKits.com and get theirs.

Projection TV sets have two very common problems listed below.

Problem #1) Convergence


These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

Convergence Issues Both STK392-110 ICs and possibly the 1.8 ohm and 1.5 ohm 1 watt convergence resistors as well. You can get replacement parts at the following link and they provide free instalation instructions

Have a shop look at it. you cant fix it at home. really.

the problem is that you neglected to replace the open (hope you replaced both stk's) and replaced the green pico fuses

While it is true JVC tubes rarely fail, they can give trouble.
Another possible solution is bad screen / focus block......
Remove lower front grill panel and access board...Check for
smooth adjustment of RGB screen and focus.....let me know....T..

try using AV im puts with dvd or vcr if this work your tuner is bad new cost aruond $90 to 120 if available but next year you wont have use for it

no you did the right move but now you align the new pc board ,try to get the service in to enter the convergence alignment section,on most jvc;s it sleep timer ,disply&video status to enter try it but if your not sure of that you can perform the alignment ask a tech to do it. on the remote certain keys do special functions and you need to know what they do or you might make it worse.

I had a problem with my TV colors not lining up. One day I turned it on and the green was out of wack. I checked this message board and replaced the STK chips, bad soldering and all led to me just giving up on that and buying a whole new Convergence Board ($185). I just plugged this in and though now my Green lines up okay, my red is out of whack. Is there something I am doing wrong? Can anyone help me? Did i miss a step? Frustrated......Bruce
