There are several ways to do this.
We can choose either inches or feet as our base.
Let's do the case in inches.
Let's say the measurements are 5'2" by 2'4".
Step 1 - Convert everything into inches, so multiply the feet by 12 and add the inches. 5'2" becomes 5x12+2 = 62". Similarly, with 2'4" 2x12+4 = 28".
Step 2 - Calculate the area in square inches. 62" x 28" = 1736 square inches.
Step 3 - Convert square inches into square feet by dividing the number of square inches by 144 (12" x 12"). I get 12.06 square feet.

Let do the case in feet using the same measurements.

Note that I have rounded my answers, thus, they are not equal. To avoid this, keep the answer in your calculator and round only at the end.

I am assuming the car is automatic?

If so then it could be 2 things.

1 the slave cylinder for the gearbox needs bleeding through or may be leaking in air through tiny pin holes. Worth trying this first as it is much cheaper.

2 and the most likely cause is the torque converter, this converts the power from the engine to the gearbox. when they start to go wrong the car will creep forward, it is not accelerating really it is because the converter is using the idle revs and converting then to power to soon. very rarely can these be fixed and the average cost for a ford is around $250 to $400

I am having problems with the drive gear it seems like its not going into gear. It drives fine when Im shifting it in 2,3rd and 4th gear. I have had the gearbox function light came on then will reset its self. I was having the check engine light on and skips between 40 and 60? Its a 2000 S type 8v with 61,000 miles! Does anyone know what could be wrong?

This doesn't make sense a cat con should last the life of the car. For a cat con to go bad there must be excessive heat in the system to melt the material in the cat con. For two cat con to failure there's something wrong.
