I took apart the reel to clean it and I reassembled it, after reassembling the reel I'm able to cast it and once I start to reel it back in, I'm able to reel in both directions. The drag is completely off and the line will still continue to reel in both directions as well.
If their is a lock on the back of the reel, you'll need to disassemble it like you're changing spools. Behind the spool there's an nut that will need to be taken off so that you can take off the part with the' flipper '. Under that piece there is a locking lever that gets flipped by the switch on the back of the reel. There is a spring that controls how that piece locks into the gear that locks the spool. It pops off the shafts sometimes if it gets dry on the shaft. Grease it real good and put the he spring back on the shaft. Best Baitcasting Reel In 2018 The Ultimate Guide For Anglers
Sounds like the slider switch didn't get back into it's socket properly, take it back apart and look at that.
