SOURCE: Noisy Wine Fridge

The problem is likely with one of the two fans. A new fan is available from Danby (1-800-263-2629). My noisy fan is the condensor fan located at the bottom rear of the device. After removing the cooler from under the cabinet, the source of the noise was obvious. You will need to tell them whether it is the upper fan or lower fan. Leave the cooler upright for a few hours before you plug it in so that you do not damage the condenser. Price for the fan from Danby is $20.15 including shipping. SOURCE: danby wine cooler compresser not running and is hot

The compressor needs to be tested to see if it's operational. This normally needs to be done by a service tec.

that's always a possibility but not always the case. The thermostat may not be cycling correctly or set wrong. The condenser could be dirty or if there is a fan, it may not be running. Freeze ups can also cause an "Out of temp." condition. Check it out.

SOURCE: code E4 on dandy wine

We had that problem in 2007, about 10 months after buying it from Costco. It was under warranty so the tech came and changed both sensors. It's worked fine until Feb 11. Now, the lower section ran so cold it froze some bottles. I am looking for a solution to that problem.

SOURCE: Danby DWC283BLS Wine Cooler - Error message E3 & E4

E4 on danby designer wine cooler -
TEST your compressor: Cooler can be forced to operate and cool as a test.
Unplug unit from 115v receptacle.
Hold both temperature control buttons down.
Plug unit in 115v receptacle.
The cooler should start, but the thermostat will not stop the compressor. Now you got a freezer ! I do not know how to fix the E4 error yet.

I cannot set the temperature ... Keeps resting 75 degrees F

How long does it take to reset? What is the temp are you trying to set it to? How old is the unit? Has it always done this or just started?

Danby DWC283BLS has condensation inside the unit.

wine coolers have no means of draining the condensate inside them, use silica gel(1/2 pint)to keep the inside dry(remember to dry it out when condensate happens again)

E4 message

Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet and wait 30 minutes before pluging back in. This should clear all settings on the cooler.
