For every format (MP4 is not one, but dozens of formats and no standard) you need a player, or on a computer a setting in a program. A DVD player, only can play one format, a DVD format. Actually it is even a coded format. When you have a MP4 file, you should encode it to to the DVD format and then but it to a DVD, before you try to play it in a DVD player. Try reading some articles about video formats on Wikipedia, when it is interesting enough for you to understand different Video (and Audio) formats.

GOOD ANSWER. ALSO IF YOU HAVE A SMART TV STICK THE MP4 VIDEO ON A USB STICK AND PLUG IT IN AND YOU CAN PLAY IT THAT WAY, OR AT LEAST I CAN. JUST A THOUGHT.

Silvercrest dvd 6522 how to play mp4

You cannot play MP4 files directly via a external DVD player, you may need to burn your mp4 files to DVD and then you can play the DVD on a DVD player. What you need for burning mp4 files to DVD is a blank dvd disc, a burning program and a disc drive. You can try Leawo DVD Creator to burn MP4 files onto your DVD. Other than this software, you can also try ImgBurn and BurnX.

Will DVD Players play MP4 files?

As we know, most old DVD players only support DVD video on DVD disc, they cannot play any video file not to mention MP4 file. Later, some DVD players can play video files on DVD disc. Even later, many DVD players come with USB ports, users can attach USB drive to it, and it can search and play video files on it. However, the video formats they support are very limited. Because DVD video is some kind of MPEG-2 video, this format is supported by nearly all DVD players. MP4 is newer than AVI format, some players doesn't support MP4 but support AVI. Hence, to play MP4 on DVD Players, we suggest you convert MP4 file to DVD-Players-sensible formats like the MPEG or AVI format.

I brought Home Theater PHILIPS HTS3565 but when I tried to play my file "AVI" it says codec is not supported but this file can be played in all of my device except PHILIPS. I have already...

Greetings - Your home theater setup will not play xvid or mpeg 4 files. The formats supported are MPG 1 and 2, Divx, and WMV .

If you'd like to view any .AVI or .MP4 files you would have to use a computer and re-encode them to a compatible format.

You will find a list of the software and links to download (much of it free) tools HERE that you can use to convert video to a compatible format (MPG2 is always a good safe format that plays on anything).

Good Luck,

Getting wrong region error when trying to play my dvd how do i resolve it

This issue can not be resolved.

This means that the DVD you are trying to play is copyrighted for another region of the world. Either the DVD was purchased somewhere else or your DVD player was.

Hope that helps.
