What does the 5hp mean

it is how much power the motor has. In the old days people travelled on horses . One horse produced one horse power. So if you had a buggy with 5 horses attached to it you had a five horse power buggy. So your schredder engine has the equivalent power produced by five horses.

Have a beach buggy that needs the choke to run. When motor is hot after start up and the choke is set to be in normal the motor cuts out and if you ridding and set the choke to normal the motor cuts out

Have you changed the intake filter or pipes in any way, too much air could be drawn into engine, check ports, jets and float valve, adjust mixture screw to 4 turns out then adjust by ear half turns either way, check fuel pump return.

How do I adjust brakes on a horse drawn amish buggy?

Hi Bill, Tried saying WHOA ? Assuming it's a 'parking 'brake, can you block the wheels and have an assistant apply & release it?look under buggy for movement at the other end. A cable or mechanical linkage near one end or the other should have a provision for adjustment.Use penetrating oil,'shorten' linkage to tighten & vise versa it could also be a 'shoe' type brake applying pressure to wheel[s[ or axle. trace linkage from lever to brake. Good Luck
