Dark screen on my TI-84 plus. What to do?

The Mode settings determine how entries are interpreted and how
answers are displayed on the TI-84 Plus. At first set option full screen and then folow next:If you cannot see anything on the screen, you may need to adjust the graphing TI 84 calculator contrast :
1.To darken the screen, press and release 2nd key, and then press and hold up-arrow key until the display is sufficiently dark.
2. To lighten the screen, press and release 2nd key, and then press and hold down-arrow key until the display is sufficiently light.

TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen, especially when the batteries are changed, so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible.
If this isn't the problem, please reply to this post and give a fuller description of the problem.

Sounds like your contrast is a little too dark. Press the 2nd key and then hold down. This should dim the contrast. If you dim it too much simply daeken it by pressing second and up.

This seems like a problem with the calculators contrast; Here's what to do:
Press the 2nd and up key. This should darken the characters.
If that does not work; it could be that the battereies are almost exhausted and need to be replaced. In the event you replace the batteries and the screen is then too dark simply press the 2nd and down keys to readjust it.

The problem may be due a screen that is too light to see anything on it. Adjust the screen darkness.

1. Press [2nd] key and release it.
2. Press and HOLD the [UpArrow] to draken screen.
3. Release the [UpArrow] when screen is dark enough.

You can also connect it to the computer to see if TI Connect finds it. If it does, update the OS to version 2.53MP.

You change the backup battery if the calculator tells you RAM CLEARED each time you turn it ON.

Press [ENTER]. It will display 6 on the next line. Whenever a cursor is blinking it is waiting for you to do SOMETHING.

On the TI overhead screen, there is a dial. This is how you adjust the contrast. It sound like the contrast on the overhead display is too dark.

try pressing 2nd-> "up arrow" to adjust the contrast, keep doing it and it may solve ur problem

press 2nd and then the down arrow over and over until the contrast is adjusted. Did you read the manual?

Well, this might not be right, but check the Brightness. Hit 2nd, then the down arrow. repeat this a few times. see if that works.
