Kind of snake with black body whitestripes dimaion?

In the US a ring neck snake,not dangerous but don't handle it

In Australia a red bellied black snake, very venomous

Kingsnake.

treat all snakes as poisonous and you will be all right
however with out a description or a photo why would you expect any body to know about your snake

common garden snake,, 2 ' is a really large one.. harmless and eat mice, bugs, and rats

It depends..... white diamonds make it a California King Snake. Dark brown to black chain like make it a Diamond Backed Water Snake. Or if it consists of a series of diamonds with an outer frame of white, an inner frame of dark brown and a mottled pattern in the center and a rattle, it's a Western Diamondback....... Where do you live?
