If your watch is battery operated, the most common reason is battery itself. Don't mind it was bought in January, because watch itself could be in shop storage for years (even if it is one of the new models).
If your watch is automatic/hand wound, then there might be a problem with movement and in this case you will need help of qualified watchmaker.
SOURCE: Tissot wrist watch goingin reverse since new battery fitted
It sounds like the battery might be in backwards. They do
have polarity,...it DOES matter how it goes in. Try opening it, and
flip the battery to see if that helps.

SOURCE: my Tissot Watches second hand jumps 3-4 seconds bursts. Why?
The second hand jumping three or four seconds .I have had this same problem and found out that its i sign of wanting a new battery.Mine is now perfect
SOURCE: My middle "T" button won't work in my tissot watch
it's not a button, it is the crown. you can pull it to adjust the time
SOURCE: why would a tissot t-touch need an overhaul to replace a dead battery
These babies are notorious for going down the tubes with a battery change. I bet if you get it back it won't work with a new battery. Twice I have replaced batteries and the watch didn't work when I finished. One of them was my own watch, I think $450 is about half the price of a new watch and that is sad. Cool watch just not very long life
