Trying to connect Magnavox MWR 10D6 DVD/Recorder to Sanyo HDTV. TV is connected to Dish network through coax. cable.

Unfortunately, the Magnavox MWR10D6 recorder can not record HD signals. It's only video inputs are coax (RF) and composite video; both are limited to 480i (SD). NTSC (analog signals) are translated to video.

Your best recording option is to connect the composite video output of the Dish receiver to the video input (yellow for video, red and white for audio) of the recorder. Then set the receiver to the channel that you want to record and set the recorder to Line In.

HD recorders may exist. They are much more expensive than the SD versions.

I wish that I had better news for you. The manual for the MWR10D6 is available from Funai here: http://www.funai-corp.com/support/om/MWR10D6.pdf .

Programming codes to ATT remote

Check for codes by Device Brand. Not by remote brand.

For more details, just type in the site name "Electro-help" to your search engines' search box [not in the address bar of your browser], and click search. It is an electronic equipments service help site. All details you want are there. Note the position of hyphen in between words in site name, when you type it in. The site will appear as it is in web; subtitled as Service help to electronic home entertainment equipments.

Pull up older posts. You can get all details.

You can locate it either at the bottom part of first search page, or at the top of second page. Detailed descriptions are there to help you.
Sometimes, clicking on advertisements by the side and bottom of each post might help you to get details about the availability of spare parts; price etc:-

My recorder doesn't auto preset channels or record, like it used to do

Unplug from power for a while and power back up to allow it to TRY to reboot---failing there consult the owner manual to see if something there helps----depending on age and value of unit may or may not be worth repair if an actual circuit problem.

I have surroundsound. I have dish network with hd dvr. I have a sony bravia hd tv. I have a dvd player, and cd player. I have a magnavox dvd recorder. I want to record from my dvr to my dvd recorder. ...

To get the functionality you're looking for you'll need to to take the cable running from your DVR output and connect it to the input on your DVD recorder. Next you want to connect a cable from your DVD recorder output and connect it to your TV. If this is an HD set up you want to use HD Cables for all of the connections.

I need the remote code can't find it i have a dish network universal any help would be appreciated.

We would be happy to help you with that. Here is a list ofcodes that should address your DISH Network remote to your Philips Magnavox DVD Recorder: 801, 766, 556, and 585.

Press and hold the DVD/VCR button located on the top of the remote until allthe mode buttons at the top of the remote light up, then release. Use thenumber buttons to enter one of the codes for your Philips Magnavox DVD Recorder, then pressthe pound (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the modelight flashes three times. To check that the code works try several different functions on the remote tomake sure it will properly operate your Philips Magnavox DVD Recorder. Keep in mind that somecodes may not be compatible with your equipment. If this is the case, try the other codes listed for that device until you find one that iscompatible with your equipment. We hope this helps and thank you forbeing a valued DISH Network customer!

Help Me!

My tv has several video inputs & this is the way I did mine. I ran the red, white & yellow cable from the dish box to "video 1" on the tv. For the Magnavox I ran a coax cable from the dish receiver out to the rear of the Magnavox & the red, white, yellow from the magnavox to the tv "video 2". Check the dish box to see if the switch in the back reads channel 3 or 4 & set your magnavox to the same. Make sure in the setup you have it set to rear connections. If you have picture on both video settings on the tv everything is golden. Hope this helps.

Dish Pro record code for Mag combo

ZNREL, I've done this with Dish Pro before. Setup the Dish remote to control the Mag combo in the VCR position. Press the SAT button and select the guide. Go to the program in the guide and select it. The "record this program" routine should pop up, set it up. Here's the key, make sure the Dish remote has the VCR button selected and that the remote is placed where it can "see" the Mag combo. At the set time, the Dish remote will change the DishPro to the proper channel and then issue s "record" command via infrared to the Mag combo to start recording. DishNet has all of the device codes to their remotes downloadable from their site.
