It is not just a high pitch whistle, but sounds like R2D2 got stuck on his highest pitch and it hurts your repaired cavities and calls in the neighbor's dogs. Terrible, but if you wait about a minute, it goes away, unless you turn it to a different imput mode, then it comes back for a minute. It is not just a high pitch whistle, but sounds like R2D2 got stuck on his highest pitch and it hurts your repaired cavities and calls in the neighbor's dogs. I have an RCA model D52W26. The green light comes on when powered on but turns off within seconds. No picture, no sound. Just a squealing noise then nothing. Any thoughts on a fix?

The noise you hear must be from its back-light inverter board. The ferrite core in the inverter transformer may make a high whistling noise and will be annoying. Contact any technician. It can be stopped by gluing. But is a skilled work.
This is the Famous 3 strikes and out for RCA's--it tries to come on 3 times and if fails shutdown occurs.
The high pitched sound may be a short or could be something arcing--if the sound comes from near the very front of set--could be the HV splitter this set has arcing.
the noise is the evap fan hitting . now either its comming off the motor shaft or its hitting ice build up caused by incomplete defrost . It's time to call the repair man . as the noise will quit and the cold will too . mm

The problem i had was when i would play my tv. I had it hooked from my dish to the sony then the tv. When i played a dvd,cd or the tuner it didn't make that noise. It seems my video/audio 2 channel was going bad. I disconnected my rca jacks and used the optical audio connection. The noise stopped and i got a better quality sound.
I wonder if there is enough air circulating around your equipment??
My DVD recorder makes a sound unless I open
