Canon pixma mp499 is offline how do I fix it?

Need to get it online...don't know how

Make sure that it's powered on. If it is, then it sounds like it's not on your network. Run the setup program and enter your wifi network information into it, so that it gets on your network. If you've already done that, try power cycling the printer. I have to do that with my HP wifi printer every once in a while. When it goes to sleep it drops the connection.

Here are few steps to solve Canon pixma mp499 offline issue:

  1. First of all, you have to turn off your printer.
  2. Second step is to wait for a minute and then again turn on the printer.
  3. Then reconnect your printer with the wifi. Whenever a canon printer won't connect to wifi, the printer shows the offline issue. So make sure your wifi is properly connected with the printer.
  4. Now click on the disable "Use Printer Offline" Option from the system.
  5. Now go for the restart printer spooler option.
  6. Now check whether your printer driver is updated or not. If not, then update it now.

Hi,

Here's the steps in order for you to get your printer ONLINE and be able to print.

1. Click on your START menu
2. SETTINGS / Printers and FAXES or via COTNROL PANEL, printers and faxes
3. RIGHT click on your printer
4. Make sure "Use Printer Offline" is NOT ticked, if it is, UNtick it

Your printer should respond immediately if there are documents on queue for printing and should print it out.

I was assuming you are using a windows xp operating system. Here is what you need to do.

Click on Start
Select Printers and Faxes
See if the printer's icon is blurred or clear. If its blurred then, some of the reasons are usb cable not properly fix to both the printer and the usb slot of your computer / printer was set to use as offline / printer is turn off or has no power.

If the printer's icon is blurred, double click it.
A small window will appear, Press the Printer menu and scroll down to "Use Printer Offline"
Make sure it is uncheck.
Close the window and see if the image of the printer's icon become clear.

Canon PIXMA MP495 InkJet Printer - Offline issues
For Vista wireless setup: Open your Control Panel. Choose Printers. In the Printers box it lists your printers. Hover over the wireless printer icon, right click, choose Run as Administrator, then choose Use Printer online. This should change the status of the printer to Ready (from Offline). Be sure you've chosen this printer as your default printer. Might have to do this on a regular basis.
