How do i remove the GE Profile gas range contol panel and replace it?
Take out the 4 burner knobs, just pull them straight out. Then, you'll see those round holders for the burner knobs, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. They actually screw out, lefty-loosey, righty-tighty. Those 4 things are holding the control panel onto the oven, aka the keypanel. When you unscrew them, you should be able to pop the keypanel right off, depending on how strong the seal is (ours was worn and weak - 8ish years old I think). The problem you described sounds like the ribbon cable is unplugged, or has some gunk on it. A guy on Youtube says you can get the gunk off with a pencil eraser. Then carefully put the ribbon cable back into the slot on the back of the key panel, and put it back on the oven by lining it up and screwing in those black round holders for the burner knobs. You probably need to fix the seal on the keypanel so liquid/food doesn't spill in there; that's our next project (we don't use that range often.) Also, turn off the electricity and gas before you do this. (We flipped a switch at the circuit breaker to turn off electricity, but we didn't turn off the gas.) I'm not an expert, so please read safety tips in the manual before trying this. Good luck!

hello dreeden5
Ngafm at your service,
You have a GE Profile oven range. I and you just cleaned it and the pilot light on all four burners continues to click on and off.
It sounds like the gas line or the gas valve, have some debris in them!
They need to be evacuated by an experienced tech.
This time you need service.
Bless You ngafm
Please give me a good rating at this sight before you leave!
Thank You

Often times when someone makes an attempt to "repair" a control, it does not hold up. Replace the entire control. Don't waste your time. You will also get a year warranty on a replacement control.
SOURCE: Converting a GE Profile Gas Range from LP to natural gas
GE ships gas ranges set for natural gas, with the LP orifices included, usually on a metal tab held with one screw right near the regulator (where the gas connects to the range). If the range was converted to LP, the person who did the conversion was suppose to put the natural gas orifices back in that holder. If they are missing, comment back on the exact model number and I can look up the part number(s) for you.
SOURCE: GE gas range igniter continues to spark, won't shut off.
Often times, just leaving the range unplugged for a time will solve the problem, which is most often caused by water or a cleaning agent getting into an igniter switch behind a burner knob. After the switch drys out it usually starts working again. In the mean time, you can still use the burners by lighting them manually with one of those long lighters, but you will not be able to use the oven or broiler without electricity. If the range continues to spark after being left unplugged for more than a day or two, you will have to determine which switch behind the burner knobs is causing the problem. Please don't bother rating, as anything but a Fix-Ya will lower my score. Thanks.
