SOURCE: paper wrapped around the red roller

lift the cover remove all the cartridges and the drum unit slowly and carefully and slightly pull the upper side of the paper not the lowerside and if it is rolled completely you have to open the heater unit to remove if you donot have any technical knowledge do not try because the red roll you are taking is a costly thing, call the service technician and get it repaired that would be more cheaper.

SOURCE: Error Engine Fuser low heat

possibly the fusers thermostat is displaced. it rides very close to the roller to get an accurate reading, look for 2 wires into a black "thing" toward the middle of the roller. this is a thermistor which sends its reading to the mainboard. check if the fuser is getting very warm, there is a thermo couple in series with the fusers power so it wont overheat but if its getting hot and the printer doesnt know it then the dammaged/displaced thermostat would be the thing to look for,

SOURCE: paper jam, unable to pull paper out

Yeah, I would be careful though and only take out what screws you have to and document where they came from.

SOURCE: After my old fuser assembly

Hello.

Just be certain that the paper is cleared from all the areas:

From HP Support

Using the handle, completely open the left cover until it is at
right angles to the main frame. The toner cartridges will
disengage automatically. If the left cover is not completely open, the top cover release button will remain locked. Press the top cover release button to unlatch the top cover and open it all the way.

Carefully take the jammed paper out of the printer.

Do not touch the fuser. It is hot and could cause burns!
The fuser’s operating temperature is 180°C (356° F). Take care
when removing paper from the printer.

After making sure that the left cover is open, close the top cover. Make sure that it is securely latched. CAUTION: Do not try to close the left cover with the top cover open. This may cause damage to the printer.

Close the left cover firmly.

Open and close the right cover to resume printing.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: won't pickup and print glossy photo paper but does

Please read all of the following before beginning.

Try these steps:
Click on:
>Start
>Control Panel

>Double Click Printers

>Right ClickYour Printer icon

Note: Some users keep a printer icon in the taskbar (lower right hand corner). You can access your printer from there as well.

>Click Printer Preferences in this little menu
>Look down the window to Type is...(a pull down menu)
>Click Other, then choose your paper type
>Click done or ok, whatever you show

When you load your paper, make sure you fan the edge really well.
Be sure to reverse these steps and choose plain paper when you are finished with glossy paper.

I hope this works for you. If it does not, please let me know.

I have a Samsung SCX-4600, great machine but I've got a paper jam and I can't get at it - the troubleshooting guide is very helpful for jams everywhere except in this location - the paper has wrapped...

it sounds like it is wrapped around the fuser roller. is the roller around an inch or 2 around? if so it is the fuser roller and be carefull to no scratch this roller or you will get all jams. the fuser can be taken out with care to look at all the plugs and screws.

WE HAVE A PAPER JAM ON THE BACK FUSER OF HP LASERJET 2420. A PIECE OF PAPER IS COMPLETELY WRAPPED AROUND IT.

You can attempt to remove the fuser from the machine to have better access to the paper inside. It is very easy to damage the fuser roller and film when removing a piece of paper wrapped around inside.

We recommend calling for service, but worst case is you try yourself and can't get the paper out then you would just order a new fuser.

We can get you the fuser. Just call 262-993-1551. We offer free shipping.

I had a piece of paper wrap around the fuser of my Oki C5650 printer. I have removed the paper (all of it.), but now it is displaying a 980 Fatal Error code. What do I do now?

I just had a service call with a 980 error. i removed the paper wrapped around the fuser roller but the error persisted. The only thing that cleared the error was to replace the fuser. I am not sure why but the fuser was shot after it had the paper wrap inside it.

There is no reset to clear the error. The only fix was to replace the fuser.

I cannot even see the "stuck" paper.

it will probably have wrapped itself around one of the fuser rollers. You may be able to see the fuser rollers from the rear of the printer and check to see. to remove the fuser is quite involved even after removing the 2 side covers, the top cover and the back cover. the fuser is the component that gets extremely hot, near the paper exit.

Printer Jam

Its probably stuck wrapped around the fuser.

It WAS glossy Laser paper and NOT glossy Inkjet paper wasn't it ??

Glossy Inkjet paper could cause a proplem like this, as inkjet paper just isnt made to stand the temperature of a fuser (the fuser cover reaches a temp of just under 180 Celcius) and it melts !!!

Fuser or duplex problem

Hi .. I'm afraid what you have damaged is the fuser unit. I know this because I may have done the same to my printer. It would appear that the glossy film melts on the photopaper and welds itself to the rollers in the fuser unit. I am currently trying to clean off the residue and hope there is not too much damage
