Are the prints ok? Did you tried to print a test page as follow: Utility -> User Settings -> Print Settings -> Print Reports -> PS Demo Page -> Start. Check this page and if it is looking OK, you isolated the malfunction to scanner area. Try a scan and check the quality, afterwards try to copy from DF and try a glass copy, check the quality.
