The pump is not running when it is in a cycle, just when the machine is forced into a drain and spin. we have a bad drain pump motor and possible a bad board or main control. http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/jgrella16/2011-09-22_041351_w1100_w1200_ti_112304.pdf

SOURCE: How to fix a Miele

Below is how error codes are deciphered by the cycle lights and water level light. This should help diagnose the failure. I recommend to have service technician diagnose and repair your washer.
LONG DRAIN error code will cause the NORMAL, PERM PRESS, and HANDWASH cycle led lights to come on and the WATER LEVEL light to blink.
If the drain time exceeds 6 minutes, the wash cycle will stop. Push the START/OFF button to reset the mode, a drain task is executed and the previously selected cycle resumes.
POTENTIAL CAUSES:

  • Drain pump failure.
  • Drain hose: check for proper connection, kinks or clogs.
  • Pressure switch contact failure.
INCORRECT FILL WATER LEVEL error code will cause the HEAVY DUTY, PERM PRESS, and HANDWASH cycle led lights to come on and the WATER LEVEL light to blink.
Wash cycle stops. Press START/OFF button to enter Standby mode. Execute a Diagnostic Test to drain the water.
POTENTIAL CAUSES:
  • Incorrect electrical connection to pressure switch.
  • Pressure switch contact failure.
  • Pressure switch is defective.
  • Pressure switch hose is damaged or loose.
  • Air dome is clogged.
  • Drain hose: check for proper height, kinks or clogs.
UNEXPECTED FILL DURING AGITATION OR SOAK error code will cause the HEAVY DUTY, NORMAL, and the HANDWASH cycle lights to to come on and the WATER LEVEL light to blink.
The pressure switch contact selected has opened during agitation task. The wash cycle stops and a Drain task is executed. Once the Drain is complete, the cycle stops.
Push the START/OFF button to reset the operation mode, a Fill task is executed and the previously selected cycle resumes.
POTENTIAL CAUSES:
  • Water or clothes were removed from basket after Fill task was complete.
  • Pressure switch hose is damaged or loose.
  • Drain hose is improperly connected.
  • Water leaking from washer tub.
SLOW FILL error code will cause the HEAVY DUTY,NORMAL, and PERM PRESS cycle lights to come on and the WATER LEVEL light to blink.
If the Fill task exceeds 20 minutes, the wash cycle stops. Push the START/OFF button to reset the operation mode, a Fill task is executed according to previous Wash Temp selection and the previously selected cycle resumes.
POTENTIAL CAUSES:
  • Water inlet valve is clogged or damaged.
  • Water pressure is too low.
  • Water hose is closed/clogged.
  • Water supply faucet(s) turned off.
Hope that helps..........

Front lower left corner has an access door.  Pry the access door open.  Inside you will find a yellow tab that will open the machine glass bubble door. Below the yellow tab is a cca. 2.5 inch screw-in plug.  Place a pan in front of the machine and unscrew to plug.  Water will drain out of the machine.  With the plug removed, tilt the machine forward past 45 degrees until all water has drained out.  This will reset the washer.  Insert the screw-in plug.

SOURCE: hey there, i got a miele w4800 front load washer

You have water in the bottom pan of the machine. grab it at the back and tilt it forward. the water will run out and it will start working again, but you will probably need a concertina hose. This is the hose that connects the detergent compartment to the wash drum.

Miele Advanta dishwasher beeping

Buzzer
The end of a program and faults can be
announced by a buzzer tone.
The buzzer at the end of a program
sounds five times in intervals with a
brief break in between. The buzzer
sounds up to one hour if the
dishwasher is not turned off.
The buzzer for a fault sounds
continuously. The buzzer sounds for up
to two minutes if the dishwasher is not
turned off or the fault is fixed.
The buzzer is activated by default. It
can be set to off, so it does not sound
at the end of a program. The buzzer for
a fault cannot be set to off.
^ Open the door.
^ Turn the dishwasher off o.
^ Press the program button and at the
same time turn the dishwasher on g.
Hold the program button until the
lower right program indicator comes
on.
If it does not come on, start over.
^ Press the program button briefly four
times.
The "Intake/Drain" indicator flashes 4
times in intervals.
The upper right program indicator
shows if the program end buzzer is
turned on or off.
- Upper right program indicator
flashes: Buzzer is turned on
- Upper right program indicator is off:
Buzzer is turned off
it is not easy to disable the buzzer. you have to hold the buttons down exactly the way it tells you to in the manual. you also have to pay attention to the lights and make sure they are flashing the proper sequences. try it two or three times. you will eventually get the hang of it. not sure where you live, but the miele techs have a computer that allows them to disable the beeper if you are unsuccessful. the proceedure is copied below.

^ To change the setting, press the
program button until the
"Intake/Drain" indicator lights.
^ Press the program button briefly
three times.
The setting is saved.
^ Turn the dishwasher off o.

Miele W1213 intake, drain and 3 - - - faults

Have had this since 2007 or 2008. Pain in the backside.
Fixed it by:
Cleaning drain.
Unplugging from power.
Tilting forward to drain water for 1-2 mins.
Made sure that the clear plastic light ***** in the rubber opening which located at the top was tight as it tends to get loose if you have an off-balance load.
Plugged power back in.
Boom, she started up.

This is a great washer/dryer, but it's expensive to fix if you need a repairman and it's a bit of voodoo if you need to do the above.

There is a float switch in a pan under the machine. This pan is probably full and the float switch is causing the Intake & Drain fault signal. You can lean the machine over to towards the front to partially drain the pan. Put a towel down to catch the water. When you put the machine level again the fault lights should be out. The real question is where did the water come from. You can easily remove the top (4 screws, 1 on each side behind the little plastic caps and 1 on each side of the back. Torx heads) and look down inside while you start the cycle. Look for leaks.
Good Luck,

Both the intake and drain lights are flashing

There are several simple solutions, one is reading the instruction manual. Check Intake: is any water entering? is it slow? This machine filters debris from the supply water so check the water intake filter. It is inside the end of the intake hose end against the home. Rinse it clean.
Drain: The same fault appears if the drain is clogged. Check if the lint trap is perfectly clean. Check the impeller (a set of fan blades) behind it spins freely. If buttons or coins get in there they can break off the fan blades and you can't drain water. Check the end of the drain hose if it drains. put it into a bucket or tub basin to observe how strong it pumps. Call Miele if these tips don't work. Be at the machine with Model and Serial number ready.
