It is not necessary to update your BIOS if everything is working correctly.

Everyone know some drivers for new bios?Because i purchased a Gigabyte GTX 750,and my mobo want a new bios.My mobo is Foxconn 2abf 1.30

The manufacturers provide BIOS updates. Go to their websites to get them. FWIW: You should only update the BIOS if the update provides a necessary feature or fixes a specific problem. Read the BIOS release notes to find out what it does.

Compaq Presario CQ62 faulty BIOS or not!?

Your computer will not start up with out a BIOS working, it starts the hard drive and loads the operating system.

The CMOS memory stores parameters which are updated by the operating system. Hence it needs a battery to keep the parameters. It also needs the operating system to make any necessary changes to start up again.

I do not know your full model number, but this utility will check if your pc is bootable.

My computer screen went completely white. I have a Dell flatscreen monitor

This issue occurs due to various reasons. However, in this case it might be due to corrupt BIOS settings. To resolve this issue I recommend you to visit the following website to download and install the BIOS Update:

===Installation Instructions ===

1. Download the BIOS update. (from Dell website)
2. Double-click the BIOS update icon, and then click NEXT.
3. Accept the license terms, and then click NEXT.
4. If an Overwrite Protection message appears, click YES TO ALL.
5. Click OK at the Windows Based BIOS Update window.
6. Click YES at the next Windows Based BIOS Update window, and then wait for the update to complete.
7. At the Windows Based BIOS Update window, click YES to restart your PC.
8. If you see the following message during the restart of your PC, continue with the remaining steps; otherwise you are done with the update.

Default BIOS settings have been loaded due to BIOS update or checksum issue.
Press to enter Setup. Otherwise, allow the PC to continue.

9. Press and hold F1 for a few seconds to open the BIOS Setup.
10. Press F5 for a few seconds, choose YES, and then press Enter to load the BIOS defaults. (Use the arrow keys to choose YES, if necessary.)
11. Press F10 for a few seconds, choose YES, and then press Enter to exit the BIOS Setup and save your changes. (Use the arrow keys to choose YES, if necessary.)
12. Press Enter to confirm the save.
13. If you see a System Settings Change message prompting you to restart your PC, click YES to restart the PC again.

Also use a sytem utility software RegInOut -- a System Utilities program that includes several features which allows the PC users to speedup their computer performance. It improves system performance by removing junk files and fixing registry errors. Its additional feature of

Motherboard BIOS softwere for update

The process of upgrading the BIOS on a computer is also
called "FLASHING" the BIOS.

On very old computers (486 and older) the BIOS may be
permanently programmed into read-only memory chips,
which are not flash-able, although it may be possible to
replace the chips, or re-program them using special
equipment by a qualified technician.

On virtual all modern computers, the BIOS can be updated
using new data and a special FLASH program available via
download from the manufacturer.

This is a very dangerous procedure that can destroy the
motherboard if performed incorrectly, and should not be
performed unless absolutely necessary, such as when
you computer or software will not run properly without it.

Most mother board manufacturer's (for example Asus) offer
software patches and downloads on their web site, as well
as BIOS upgrades.

Note that the BIOS is 100% board specific, installing the wrong
BIOS can permanently destroy *********** board, so make sure
that you download the correct one for your board.

Once you have the downloaded the BIOS upgrade, there are 3
possibilities:

1) The downloaded file is self-installing, either from Windows,
or it creates a boot-able diskette, which in turn contains all
the files needed to update (FLASH) the BIOS.

2) The BIOS comes with a a separate installer (.exe) which
either runs from Windows or via a boot-able diskette.

3) The existing BIOS has a "built-in" flash utility, accessable
through the BIOS settings. This utility runs at a very low
level without any operating system to self-update the BIOS
from your download binary file, located on the hard drive or
on a diskette.

This is by far the best and safest way to do the job, but only
if your motherboard and (existing BIOS) has that capability.

===
In any event, the first step is to visit the manufacturer's WEB
site, then go to SUPPORT or DOWNLOADS.

Find the exact model and version number of you motherboard
in the manufacturer's list, and download the latest BIOS
update, and any installation (or flashing) utilities that come
with it.

1) Follow the manufacturer's instruction exactly !!!!

2) Do not turn off the computer until the BIOS update is
complete, and you are instructed to do so !!!

N.B.
The computer BIOS is the lowest level program on your PC,
without which the computer CANNOT read the disk drives or
perform the lowest necessary functions.

If the BIOS is damaged, or
If the wrong upgrade is installed, or
If the upgrade is performed incorrectly, or
If the upgrade is interrupted or crashes before finishing,

the computer may become unable to repair itself, and
the mother-board may become permanently unusable.

(This depends on the actual mother-board and BIOS design,
and on the damage done by the failed installation)

Good luck,

Martin

Requared bios updated versin for foxconn 865gv chipset mother board

Hi, I run a foxconn mobo myself and yes its a great board. But dont go to the foxconn site looking for downloads. instead go to the VIA site they make the chips and you will get more sense there. If all else fails Foxconn do have a "Contact us " link on their home page. This will give you the company email address and you could request directions to the update site there, the only trouble is it could take weeks to get a response. Regards mistyman
