You can get instructions from the Timex web site "timex.com".

At the bottom of the screen click on "manuals/downloads", then on "product
manual download"

Enter your watch type in the search box and click on "search"

Click on my profile (escapement), then click on Tips and Tricks. There you will find link to all TIMEX watch manuals.Rate me, please.

After much frustration, I found the solution...
Push the set button while on time mode. Push mode until the hour is flashing.Push Split/Reset.
That should be your solution!

Here's a link to some Timex watch manuals. I looked at the one for the 1440 but I couldn't tell if it was for your watch or not.
