I need the torque specs on the bolts for the intake manifold on my Briggs & Stratton engine model 44m777-1193-b1. I had to replace the carburator. I have to wait on the seals for the intake so I figured I'd get the torque specs while I'm waiting.
If there is thread locking compound on bolt or threads it must be removed, use a tap to clean the threads and a wire brush to clean the bolts. Use a thread locking compound (blue) when reassembling, torque the bolts to 30 ft. lbs. alternating bolt to bolt in 7-10 lb. increments. Recheck the torque after the engine has been ran up to op temp.

The oil is contaminated with water. Change oil and filter, if it has one.

Problem solved by replacing to two mentioned parts. I was told that sometimes it is also necessary to replace the camshaft as some of the plastic teeth on it could also be damaged.

these are common for doing this ,if you dont want to pull it down and hone the cyl. then i would use a heavier oil say 20w/50and that will probabley solve your problem

I put a new carburator kit in a Briggs & Stratton 18 HP Twin. But did not replaced the needle nor the new seat that came with kit, because I did not know how to remove it and did not to damage it. now the gas over flows
