My washing machine was acting up again and I suspected the switch behind the panel that controls the water level. It's a $100 fix to replace and I paid to have it fixed about two years ago. I came up with a work around by putting the washer on the 2nd rinse setting. Now it works perfectly. Cheaper than replacing the part but it's a shame that the manufacturers can't produce a better product.
If wash cycle operates and water drains as should before spin indicates motor spinning. Chances are bad timer If your a real fixer you can remove timer control from panel check and clean all contacts internally making sure none are stuck closed . (Have had 3 110s in my time).not easy but can be done or buy new about 150$ reassemble and check operation.
You need to replace the Kenmore Washer Lid Switch. I had the same problem so being lazy I would just push down on the washer's lid and it would push the lid switch further down. making the water drain. after a while I just replaced the lid switch.
if its from the tub then you should fix it! the water seal could be worn out already. it would result to slipping of the belt ans thus poor spinning is produced! poor washing.
