You're probably trying to graph a function that does not involve stat plot features. You can correct this by turning off the stat plot features. Press "2ND" "STAT PLOT" and then select 4:PlotsOff.

SOURCE: error message:

Hello,
If you were trying to do paired-variable statistics the lists fo not have the same length, Check you lists and make sure they have the same number of elements.
If you were trying to draw graohs and you got this message, then you should turn StatPlots OFF. To do so press
[2nd][STATPLOT][4:PlotsOff][ENTER][ENTER]
Press [2nd][CATALOG] C. In the list of commands that appear scroll down a bit to reach ClrAllLists. Point to it and press [ENTER][ENTER]. Calculator displays Done.
Restart you graphs.
If you were using matrices, the dimensions may be incompatible for the operation.

If you had spelled what you were doing prior to the error message, I would not have had to guess.
Hope it helps.

SOURCE: TI-83 Plus Calculator: what does ERR: DIM MISMATCH mean?...

Imagine you are doing statistical calculations with two list, say L1 and L2 but one list has 10 elements (values) while the other has only 9. The dimension of the lists are different (mismatched) because one is 10 and the other 9.

Another case is if you are manipulating matrices such as adding a3x3 matrix to 3x2 matrix. Both matrices have the same number of rows but different numbers of columns.

I;m trying to do lin reg and my TI-83 PLUS keeps saying ERR:DIM MISMATCH

LinReg uses two Lists, they must contain the same number of elements. If you are using LinReg with no arguments the Lists are L1 and L2.
