To restore the product to the factory-default settings, follow these steps.
Turn the product off. Disconnect the power cable from the product for 30 seconds and then reconnect it.
Turn the product on while you press and hold the Resume button for 10-20 seconds. The Attention light turns on.
Release the Resume button.

You should really go through the manual next time you buy a device, not only can it explain you all the features which it has, but you can also figure out answers to basic things like "how to reset it". Here's the manual, I hope I helped:

On the Officejet`s control panel, Press Setup, then press 2, now press 3.
The panel will display the choice of Off, Print confirmation on Send, Print confirmation on recieve or Print on Send and Recieve. Select your choice.

Have you tried cleaning the document feeders Scan Glass? (small glass under doc feeder ~ 1" by 9") Most times there is dirt spot on this glass, causing a shadow on scans and copies.
Try copying from the large glass by lifting doc feeder / platen cover and manually placing original. If no line copying or scanning manually from large glass, then small scan glass is deffenitely the culprit. Hope this helps.
