Where to find a Dyson washing machine engineer in the Weston-super-Mare area?

HELP. Now that Dyson have "pulled the plug" on support and service on their washing machines without informing us directly - no, I did NOT receive any such communication from Dyson and my washing machine was repaired and serviced 25th September 2012 less than a week before Dyson claim they informed everyone!!! - are there any Dyson-washing-machine-engineers out there servicing my area looking to earn some extra money? Keep getting messages 'close inner door' and 'close outer door'. Need new inner door, new outer door and a new detergent drawer. This old work horse has years to go before it goes and dies on me!

Thank-you buzzdem, much obliged for your help. As it happens my washing machine is up-and-running again (touch-wood). I tightened the screws on the inner door and reset the door clip on the outer door taking care now to place it first seeing that it moves a lot side-to-side and up-and-down.

Dyson no longer manufacture or supply the parts. Your only hope is to get a second hand part. Not hard to fix.

Testimonial: "Sorry but seeing as we all know that Dyson no longer manufacture or supply parts yours is NOT a solution given there's no advice where to get a second handpart nor how-to-fix!"

SOURCE: machine saying close outer door but its closed

I'm not an washing machine engineer but I do tend to do all my own home repairs - had to fix this fault this morning,

Quite easy to fix as long as there are no broken parts in the interlock and the solenoid isn't jammed.

UNPLUG FROM MAINS

Remove the top - 2 Philips or flat blade screws - pull backwards.

Remove front door - large flat blade inserted into gap in lower door hinge at back and gently twist to widen gap while pulling the door forward at bottom.

Remove 4 torx type screws (not sure what size) and 2 long torx screws from behind the hinge.

You may want to remove the coin trap door now - it makes the job of removal and refitting the front panel easier. Remember to put a tray underneath!

Unplug the ribbon connector for the front panel from it's socket and the clips - unplug the little pipe from the middle of the front panel.

Gently lift the front cover pulling the bottom edge forward a bit to ease removal. It is not necessary to fully remove the front panel so you can leave the mains switch connected.

Unhook the emergency release strap from the pivot arm.

2 Torx Screws above and below the door latch hole secure the latch assembly. Unplug the latch from a socket past the little foam block on the front - just inside the machine.

You now have the latch. Operation is quite obvious. The door loop pushes an angled plate that swings a hook into the loop. The solenoid when activated pushes a bar down to lock the hook in place and push down on 2 micro switches wired in series as the interlock.

To strip down the assembly unplug the micro switch plugs and push a small screwdriver into the top and bottom catches.

You can now lubricate the latch and check the function of the micro switches using a meter. They a easily replaced if you can find the correct type. (Unofficially - for a home repair - if one is not working you could always bypass one - but I wouldn't condone that obviously)

If you are careful enough - the operation of the solenoid and latch can be checked and observed by plugging the unit back in and pushing the door loop into the latch - be careful of the exposed wires etc - not sure what voltages are there!!

If it's unservicable then a replacement is about £35 online.

Reassemble in reverse - nothing to point out and is quite straghtforward. Dont forget the little pipe on the back of the control panel - it's easily missed.

Hope this helps.

Darren

My DC59 is making a chugging noise, as soon as I try to use it

Hi Mary, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC59 is engineered to make a pulsing noise to warn you if something is stopping airflow from passing through the machine. The motor will then shut itself down for protection.

This would usually be caused by a temporary blockage in the floor tool, wand or bin inlet, but the filter may also need a wash. Our video guide will walk you through each area to check:

I'm confident removing any blockages and giving the filter a wash will get your DC59 up and running again.

If you would like any further help after you've given this a try, just give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

I have a Dyson washing machine, CR01. The plug on my coin trap snapped while I was trying to empty it as the display suggested. I can't believe I'm going to have to buy a new washer for the sake of a piece...

Hi Christine, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear about the damage to your CR01's coin trap plug. Both the plug and the coin trap window are designed to be replaceable individually if needed, but unfortunately due to the age of this machine we're no longer able to source many key parts from our suppliers. Therefore since December 2012, we've been unable to support CR01 and CR02 washing machines with spare parts or servicing.

You may be able to find these parts for sale from other online retailers, although we wouldn't be able to recommend any specific retailers.

I'm sorry we're not able to help further in this particular instance. If you'd like to discuss your concerns with the Dyson UK Customer Helpline, you're welcome to give us a call on 0800 298 0298. We're available from 8am-8pm from Monday to Friday, and 8am-6pm on weekends. Calls are free from UK landlines.

How can I repair a leak from underneath the coin trap of my Dyson Washing Machine?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I can recommend a couple of checks that should help. Firstly, it's important to make sure the coin trap window is correctly rotated into position (one and a half turns clockwise) ensuring the childproof tab clicks into place. Check the plug is also pushed fully back into place: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/cr01/cro1-flowcheck-white/maintaining-your-dyson-machine/check-the-coin-trap-step-1

It's also a good idea to check the seal within the coin trap is correctly in position, and hasn't been damaged in any way.

Unfortunately if the coin trap or surrounding components have been damaged, we've been unable to provide spares or servicing for CR01 or CR02 washing machines since December 2012. If you'd like to discuss this with the Dyson UK Customer Helpline, you're welcome to call us on 0800 298 0298.

Currently my dyson does not work when in the upright position. When I pull the handle back, it will run, but the suction is not very good at all. I tried washing the filter, but that didn't work. Sometimes...

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

It sounds as though the brush bar may not be turning properly when you put the machine into the upright position. To test, lie the machine on its side in the vacuuming position (head released) then switch it on and look at the brush bar to see if its turning. Make sure you keeps fingers and long hair away from this area when completing this test.

You may find it useful to use the online help diagnostics in the support section of our website as there may be a blockage in the machine somewhere. Visit www.dyson.com/support.

I hope that this information is useful.

Kind regards
