One day, the WMC is working fine. The next, not so much. After using it, I used the remote's PC power button to turn the TV display off, and then I turned the TV off, like always.
The next day, I turn on the TV, press the PC power button, which usually causes the WMC to display on the screen, but nothing happens.The remote is apparently not communicating with the PC. However, it still communicates with the TV itself and with the sound receiver, as the volume buttons still work and the TV will turn on and off. So the problem is only with the remote and its connection to the PC.
I restarted. I checked the cord that runs from the PC's USB port to theTV screen, and that is secure. The red light on the IR receiver lightsup when I press any button on the remote.
The only problem is that the remote will not tell the PC to display. The PC will shut down and restart just fine.

How old are the batteries in the remotes? The on/off signal from the remote is the same. There is some lattitude in the IR reciever module for what it accepts. Low battereis may be shifting the signal's frequency or light intensity enough for it to not be recognized.
If sunlight is failing on the sensor or the remote's IR emitter, that can cause interference. Other IR devices can also interfere with the IR signal such as a "Remote Extender" being used for something else.
It may sound odd, but if your remote was working one day and not the next- was the room rearranged? If so, look around for possible sources of interference blocking the beam from the remote, or shining or reflecting light onto the IR reciever module in the set.
This is all I found. If this tuner isn't digital ready chances are there isn't going to be much support for this and you will have to get a new one by next February.
Unplugging my TV for 15 seconds (longer actually - at least a minute) made the remote and the satellite TV remote both work again with the TV. Thanks for the tip!
Update your Harmony remote control software on your PC to the latest. Go into the TV device settings. The software should recognize if there is an update to your TV's IR commands. Try the same things with the DVR.
It's also possible the TV and/or DVR are locking up due to IR commands that are being sent too quickly. The remote has a setting for the delay between commands sent to the same device as well as the delay between commands sent to different devices. Try adjusting these settings:
In the Harmony remote software on your PC, click the "Devices" tab.
For the "TV" device, click the "Settings" button.
Click the dot next to "Adjust the delays" and click Next.
Adjust the "Inter-key" and "Inter-device" delays to something higher and click Next.
Acer's IR ports works only for Remote control and certain compitable devices only. its not open port for all devices. It cant be used for other pheripherals as far as i know! If its bluetooth then it can work surely.
