During very cold ambient temperatures the refrigerator may stay cold enough to seldom need to operate the cooling unit. The thermister (thermostat) is in the refrigerator and tells the cooling unit when to operate. With the refrigerator staying cold enough because of outside temperatures, the freezer may not be kept cold enough. The Climate Control Switch keeps the light on in the refrigerator when the door is shut so the unit will operate more often, keeping the freezer cold enough. Dometic recommends turning the switch off during warm weather.
Many times a freezer and/or refrigeratordo not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many otherthings that can go wrong.
If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing thencheck out the last two tips.
If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...
Check out these tips that I wrote about that... it is a great place to starttrouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then callinga repair person to do a simple thing for you...
hi there, this problem can be solved by a professional as it's something beyond your understanding. Please call a repair guy and have him fix this problem.
there might be a leak in your condensor did you try cleaning your coils pull the grate off the bottom and clean coils ie vacuume or air compressors work the best blows everything off if that dont work try the reset button its in one of th corners on bottom turn with a screwdriver that might work
possible causes: bad door seals or condensate drain plugged causing evaporator coils (in freezer) to ice up, condenser or evaporator fans not on, condenser coils dirty, compressor not working, or a freon leak. if the back wall of your freezer is frosty or super cold, the coils are iced up. remove the back wall and defrost it with a hair dryer. if the water doesn't drain, unclog the drain tube. check the door seals for gaps. replace if necessary. check the fan in the freezer and the fan in the back. both should come on when the compressor is on. if not, check the fuses on the main board. replace if needed. if all that is fine, and there is no frost, you have a slow leak or a bad compressor. call in a pro or get a new fridge.
before you go after that make sure your gettting cold air up fom the freezer, check back on the back wall in the center
if you feel cold air it could be the thermostat, but i would suspect the damper or freezer fan first
there is a thermoistat that turns on the fan when the coil get cold enough so that it doies not send hot air into the freezer compartment after the defrost is done. that could be the problem
