SOURCE: How to get rid of the triangle and vertical bar

Hello,
I suspect (no, I am sure that) you ran the dynamical graphing application called "Transfrorm" and since you did not terminate it, it is still in the memory of the calculator, having taken over certain functionalities of the Operating System.

Press [APPS], and scroll UP to reach the bottom of the list of applications more quickly. Locate the "Transfrorm" application, point to it and press [ENTER].
In the display you are prompted

  1. To Uninstall .or
  2. To continue
Press [1:Uninstall]. And do not worry this will only kick it out of memory, it will not delete it.

Now you recover the usual Y= function editor.

Hope it helps.
Thank you for rating the solution.

Does the Juki 600 have a mirror image option?

Which Juki 600 sewing machine do you have? The Juki Exceed HZL-F600 sewing and quilting machine has a mirror image function for some stitches. Select a stitch pattern and press the button with the open left facing triangle, a vertical line and a solid right facing triangle. This button is on the right side of the panel next to the 9 button. The only way I can see to tell if a selected pattern can be stitched as a mirror image is to try it.

The manual for the HZL-F600 is currently available from the product page here: http://www.sewingmachinesplus.com/hzl-600.php . The direct link to the manual is http://www.sewingmachinesplus.com/media/products/juki/hzl-F600/f-series-instruction-manual.pdf . See page 9 for the descriptions of the various keys on the machine.

I hope this helps.

Whenever i go to "Y=" and type in an equation that is "squared ", the calculator kinda zooms into that one function, visually wise, and the function has its own little box while y2, y3 and etc are under...

If you upgraded the Operating System to the 2.53 MP version or if your calculator was shipped with that version (the lastest) that is how the new OS works. It tries to imitate what you would see on a textbook. The exponents are raised above the main line and that requires more vertical space.

It is your friend who should be jealous not you.

But if that bothers you, well there is something you can do about it. Configure the calculator to use the classic (OLD) view.
  1. Press the [MODE] button.
  2. Use the Down Arrow key to move cursor to next page of options.
  3. On first line of new page, use the Right Arrow key to highlight CLASSIC and press ENTER.
  4. Press [2nd][MODE] to (QUIT)
  5. Press [Y=] to open function editor.
  6. Enter a function with an exponent (any exponent)
Warning: If you deactivate the MathPrint you will lose some functionalities (especially fraction manipulations).

How do i get rid of the exponent?

Do not panic!. Press [MODE]. On first line of MODE set up screen use arrow keys to highlight NORMAL and press [ENTER].
Use down arrow key to go to the line starting with FLOAT, and highlight the number of digits you want your results to display (from 0 to 9). Keep in mind that with 0, all your results will be rounded to the nearest integer. With 9, you have a large stream of digits (not necessarily a more accurate result).

However, if your results are too small or too large, the scientific display format ( with E )will be used regardless of the MODE setup.

When i unplug it from the computer it wont turn on

There is a switch on the right side of the player. It is directly above the headphone outlet. Make sure the switch covers the red colour so you see the green colour, this position is marked as "on" on the back of the player. Afterwards, press and hold the "play pause" button on the front of the player (top left button, sideways triangle next to two vertical lines) for about 5-10 seconds. It takes a while for this thing to boot up, but if it is charged it will turn on.

Trying to enter Chemistry equations and it won't work...

the way i enter my equations is a bit different from what you're doing, i use the fraction button to do division problems, i just feel it makes it easier to read.
anyway, the fraction button is on the far left, 3rd button down (it looks like a white box on top of a line, and below the line is another empty box). press that, and you can type 1.0x10^-14 on the numerator.
it seems that you haven't discovered the EXPONENT button. that button is on the same row as the fraction button, it looks like an x with a white box next to it. press that once you've typed out "1.0x10", and then type -14. the negative button btw is below the fraction button, and looks like this: (-)
press the right arrow twice on the circle thingy at the top of all the keys, and that'll advance you to the denominator. type 2.0x10^-5, using that nifty exponent key. press the equal sign and it'll solve it for you, all in scientific notation (the answer is 5x10^-10). the problem with this calculator is, it won't expand that answer for you with all the decimals and everything, but if its chemistry that shouldn't be a problem.
also, you can certainly use the "x10^x" button on the very bottom of the keypad (its next to the decimal button). by using this key, you won't have to press the exponent button since you can just type in the exponent directly next to the 10.

as for that negative log of 5.6, just input the negative, the log button is right next to the exponent button, and your number and yeah....it's that easy :]

i hope you like this caculator, it has so many functions (have you seen the size of the manual??)
good luck on your chemistry test!
