Wine cooler makes noise and runs hot

Have already replaced the fan motor while under warranty. Now the repair person tells me I will need to replace the compressor. Of course the cooler is three years old so Danby will only cover the cost of the parts. The labor is estimated at $250.00 + $81.00 for diagnostic. Is this a normal price for compressor replacement?

The price looks fine for my area its about a 3 hour job done properly. you should consider a new wine cooler and cut your losses because if their only replacing the compressor they should be replacing the cap tube and liquid drier if the cap tube is not replaced could be a waste of money

If you are not satisfied with the price and the product. You can buy new one or used one from the "VinoEnology". It is the best place to buy of sell any kind of the winery equipment.
You will get all at the affordable price and the quality is also above satisfactory.

I have a MagicChef wine cooler that stopped working. Compressor and fan do not run although there is power to the unit since the light turns on. Compressor is hot to the touch.

your unit needs to have a new capacitor possibly. However, it will be next to impossible to find someone who will check it out and get the right one for this unit. Unless the unit is under warranty, I would suggest trying to get the retailer to replace it at no cost to you. If under warranty, the manufacturer should make it right? if both of those avenues are not available, then I would suggest get a new unit.

HI sally.well wine coolers r not rocket science.your local engineer should be able to at least diagnose the problem...lets c if u can do it ok?(still getting power )u mean light comes on or u mean it runs but dont get cold?well haier is not the best but if it's done 7 years is not bad:).ok...1-check if it makes any noise or is completely quiet.if no sound feel the motor (compressor).hot or cold.if cold it could be the thermostat or motor.if hot running or not it could be refrigerant or motor.needs visual.hope this helps.ALI

Noisy when running

condenser fan blades are cover with lint or the fan motor may be going out. Clean fan blade first before doing anything else. If noise stops after cleaning the fan blades; hooray! If not you might have to replace the fan motor itself. Test and re-check before taking other step(s)

Motor in wine frige is noisy???why

That motor is an evaporator fan motor. That noise occurs when the bushes in the motor start to wear. The motor is not in effect repairable but has to be replaced. Normally a 9 watt evaporator fan motor is installed into those wine coolers.

Motor very hot; not cooling

If the compressor is hot it is possible that it is short cycling. Make sure the compressor is running and that the condenser fan motor is running if air cooled.

Noisy Wine Fridge

The problem is likely with one of the two fans. A new fan is available from Danby (1-800-263-2629). My noisy fan is the condensor fan located at the bottom rear of the device. After removing the cooler from under the cabinet, the source of the noise was obvious. You will need to tell them whether it is the upper fan or lower fan. Leave the cooler upright for a few hours before you plug it in so that you do not damage the condenser. Price for the fan from Danby is $20.15 including shipping. U-Line 15WC wine cooler not working

First make sure your condenser is clean and the fan is going. If everything is running and still doesnt cool enough then you need a repair person to check the sealed system.
