L4 errors relate to motors. L4-02 specifically means Paper feed motor locking trouble.

You will need to take it in for repairs.

PRES: CLEAR, INTERUPT, 0, INTERUPT, 14,1, START BUTTON TO RESET THE COPIER. L4-01 MEANS A MOTOR ISN'T ROTATING PROPERLY. POSSIBLY BECAUSE OF A PAPER JAM.

Please press # Interrupt C interrupt. Press 16 press start key or print key. If still a problem, please check the motor fuse or see if any kind of gear was broken.

L4 means that there is an overload in the drive system. Check the developer unit if its running smoothly or the drum. Make sure the exit unit is not jamming. This can be done by openning the cover on the right side and you will see a small motor. Clean its sensor.

That code means you have a drum drive motor failure. The drum is the long, cylindrical green-blue tube you'll see when you open the left-side door.

Chances are some paper jammed up inside the drum process unit (that black frame that holds the drum) and it's keeping the drum from turning. Check the drum/process unit and make sure they are clear of any material that could cause a jam.

The paper exit cooling fan is not working. Reboot machine, if the code comes back, you'll probably have to get the fan replaced. The fan is one of the two located over the right side door.
