The refrigerator on my side by side doesn't appear to be cooling as cold as it used to be. It's maintaining about 50 degrees. I've turned the knob up to the coldest level, but it doesn't get any colder than 50 degrees. The freezer is freezing alright. My Whirlpool model # is ED25TEXHW02.

.. Hi,, I have the same altho my guage says 39- 40 deg. but when I open the door condensation attacks and the coolness drops very very quickly... so I had a reply to that and he said put hand up to top left vent on fridge side see if blower is blowing ( mine had a lil ice up right there),, if its not see if you can budge the vent inside... I used a chopstick and a lil fiddling and the blower worked better but didnt take the icing away who knows maybe it will help your situation!

Check the evaporator fan inside the freezer compartment. You should hear it running if you open the door while the compressor is running. It blows cold air from the freeer into the fridge. If the fan is running, there could be a problem with the damper which regulates airflow into the fridge.

How do I get my maytag side by side refrigerator model# msd2756geq to cool down below 50

first turn your refrigerator temp setting to 1 then wait for the compressor to kick off, this will send the unit into defrost mode, and most units take between 1 to 2 hours to acclimate(get tempered) correctly. after a few hours gradually turn your unit towards 9 until the compressor kicks on, when it does , stop turning the knob, it will acclimate again, 1-2 hours (some units can acclimate in 15 minutes) check your unit temp and do not use the unit if it won't cool down to 43 or less degrees, you run the chance of food poisoning. hope this was helpful.

Fridge side working but only cooling to 50 degrees

My 14 years old GE profile refrigerator keep cooling above 50 degrees and not going down to below 40 degrees. I did clean condenser coil and fans are running fine. I adjusted temperature control to maximum cold .Do you think it my be short of refrigerant?

The refrigerator is not cooling enough. Even though I turn the dial up to the maximum 7, the temperature will not go below 50 degrees. I need to maintain a temperature below 47 degrees.

There could be two reasons for this
The thermostat is not working properly - replace the thermostat
There is a small refrigerant leak and the fridge cannot get cold enough - you will need a technician to find the leak and regas the fridge

I have a frigidaire side by side #FSC23LR5JM2 that is not keeping cool enough. Age is aprox 1.5 yrs. Noticed the problem over a couple of days. Turned the temp cooler by 2 numbers in the frig and freezer,...

if the freezers staying cold but not the refrige section, then its the damper vent door between the freezer and refrige section thats either frozen shut or the damper door motor is bad or without power,if nothings cold as in freezer and refrigerator sections, then its the ptc overload & relay on the compressor thats bad, unplug the ptc overload & relay off the side of the compressor and obtain an exact replacement and plug in the new replacement and it will again cool

Refrigerator will not maintain proper temperature

Check in the back of the fridge section; there is normally a control that is provided for 'balancing' the cold air between the two sections. That coolled air is distributed by a concealed fan that may not be running; you should be able to ear or feel the air movement when the unit is in a cooling cycle.

Cooler wont cool below 48 degrees.

Keep a thermometer handy. (adjust temperature control knob accordingly)
Periodically monitor temperatures inside your cooler. (adjust as necessary)
Keep the refrigerator door closed as much as possible to avoid temperature fluctuations

The temperature of the refrigerator compartment is
controlled by adjusting/setting the thermostat control
knob, located on the ceiling of the refrigerator
cabinet.
To start the refrigerator, and achieve maximum
cooling quickly;
• Turn the temperature control knob (using a coin
or screwdriver) clockwise to the furthest
(maximum) setting on the darker blue section of
the graduated control dial.
• Allow the refrigerator to run at this setting for 3~4
hours.
• When maximum cooling is achieved, turn back
the temperature control knob setting to the 2:00
o'clock position on the graduated blue control
dial.
• Correct cooling temperature is a key factor to
consider in storing and dispensing draught beer.
• Optimum temperature for serving draught beer is
between 34ºF ~ 38ºF.(1ºC ~ 3ºC)
• To maintain temperatures ranging between
34ºF ~ 38ºF.(1ºC ~ 3ºC) We recommend the
thermostat knob be positioned at the "2:00
o'clock" setting on the graduated blue control dial.
• To turn off the refrigerator, (no cooling) rotate the
control knob to the "0" position.
