Have not used my spa in some time but it was always running. I emptied it and refilled it yesterday. I set the temperature at 95. When I went out today to chlorinate it, the temp was already up to 90 and the heater pump was running. I put the chlorine in and hit the button to start the jets. A message came up that said CPo. The heater pump then wouldn't run but the jets worked fine. I turned it off at the breaker. Thanks for your help.

Salt is sodium chloride, you can only measure salt levels now as your CL (cloride) is bound to a NA (sodium). Table salt =NACL, Your Intex system will tell you if your salt level is too high or too low but your old test equipment for free chlorine will continue to tell you no chlorine as it can't react with the chloride any longer as it is bound to the salt. That is why they tell you you never have to add more because the salt stabilizes it. Your chlorine is there it's bound to the salt. Use the pool it's fine and it makes your water feel really soft! Just keep the salt level right and your fine> It's confusing as they call the unit a chlorine generator! I had the same issue, called Intex and they told me the above.
SOURCE: Intex system not giving chlorine, no errors but no green light
I found I had the same problem. I would set the hours, it would count them down but the green light would NOT come on indicating it was producing chlorine, yet the sleep light would light up after the count down so I knew the light was working. I checked my salt, made adjustments, had to do shock treatments to keep it clean. Today I found out that the manual is incorrect in how it says to set it. After you set the hours, instead of pushing both the arrows at the same time until it beeps, push the down button until it beeps, and then the up button until it beeps. For 2 months I have fussed with this system, and finally the green light came on and my test strips indicate it is producing chlorine. Yeah! To bad intex does not seem to mention this on their web site.
Good Luck

Hi Mohn,
Don't know your geographic location, but where I am we've been in the single digit temperatures for three days. Everything that can freeze has frozen.
If you are in a similar area, even though the water in the spa (I'm assuming the spa pump is being used on a spa) is heated, the pump housing isn't. If it iced up, it could very well cause the problems you describe.
Comment back with some more detail before I continue down what might be the wrong path.
Best regards
Mike
SOURCE: I run the filter pump then turn on the salt water
pH will always rise over time when using a salt generator. You'll need to periodically add acid to counteract this affect. As far as low chlorine levels try running the system longer...An average pools circulation system is setup to turn over the pool water once in about 8 hours. Running your system longer should lead to a higher chlorine residual and overall cleaner water.
