SOURCE: Lost the remote, manually need to access Menu button
VCRs since the early '90s have limited function with the machine located controls, and a remote is necessary to get into most setup options, probably including the channel add/delete. Many VCRs do have an auto program mode which searches for active channels, but I'd guess this also is activated via remote. A universal remote which specifically has the capability of performing the advanced functions is probably available. Look here for an exact http://www.electronicadventure.us/panasonic.htm Part number is VSQS1418 according to this site for PV4501.
SOURCE: Camera froze up w/ no button function
hello, these units have a very fine zoom switch and can get damaged by a drop or fine sand. the zoom switch sits under the actual button. if you turn the camera on in camera mode and the display is showing the zoom on screen display then you know it is the switch.
