I have a 2002 Yamaha FX140 Waverunner. It won't start normal, won't stay idle at all and won't accellerate past 4 miles per hour. It was my fathers and not used hardly. Has total of 36 hours since he baught it. It started giving problems last year by having hard time starting and staying Idle, then this year it not only won't start without throttling and staying throttled, it won't accellerate anymore past 4-5 miles per hour , up to 4-5000rpm. I have check the injectors and it does get fuel to all four ports, but I do not know what else to check, there is no inline fuel filter, only one on the fuel pump which i have not checked yet since it has been delivering fuel.
any suggestions? how to clean the fuel injectors , low speed if clogged? or is it electronic problem limiting the engine?
You have fouled spark plugs change them all fixed all the newq yamaha sare doing it it is the in thing to do
U need a new wear ring in your jet unit
Have a yamaha xlt 1200 that hasnt run in 5 years. Not getting fuel . New plugs are dry. I think its a carb problem. What do you think should be done? Should i pull out the carb and clean it? Or do i need to change something? Please advise. Thanks
Where can i locate my spark plugs on my ho waverunner 06
Don't know if this will help, check all your plugs. i had one plug go out and lost 10 mph. i was told if you start and stop more than a couple times out of water it will foul the plugs right out. give this a try!

After doing several oil flushes and adding new oil I noticed a big change , but it wasn't until I did change the plugs when the watercraft came fully back to life. I would recommend both, oil flush, and spark plugs. also added some fuel injector cleaner to help clear up the nozzles. All three helped it get back to full performance.
thanks for the feedback
