My ice freezes as a block when dispensed into ice tray

There are water level adjustment screws behind the plastic cover of the ice maker to adjust the water level when it refills after dumping a tray of ice. When there is to high of a water level it spills over onto the cubes freezing them into a big block. Try to adjust the level of water. There is a arrow which tells you which way to turn the screw to get a smaller fill fixing the problem.

Fim200a does not make the cubes large enough

If you just started having this problem now and it was making the right size ice before then i would first look at cleaning the ice machine including the condenser coil. second thing make sure that the water inlet valve is not seeping water by when it is in freeze mode just a little warmer water will cause it to not make good ice and a longer freeze time. last thing would be to adjust the I.S.Adjust: Ice size adjustment on the control board. Turn screw clockwise, and the size of individual ice cubes will be larger in the next cycle; the cycle time will be longer. Turn the screw counter-clockwise, and the ice will be smaller in the next cycle. only do this if every thing ealse checks out good.

I have a Maytag MSD2454GRQ side by side refrigetator. I have had a problem with ice building up in the ice bin under the auger creating a lot of noise when despensing ice. When ice build-up is removed...

Hello,

That adjustment screw on the side of the icemaker under the cover is a minor adjustment that can be adjusted to slighly increase/decrease the cube size so in essence the amount of water that enters the mold...its a fairly minor adjustment and may make a smaller or larger cube depending on its adjusted. If ya look carefully their is a small hole is the brass piece their and by turning that screw if the holes moves to the left its a smaller cube and to the right its a larger cube.

Having said all that now then if ya find your still having problems with it read this tip i wrote to see what the actual problem is going to be.

I have a Kenmore Elite side-by-sr ide refrigerator Model 106. The ice making system is putting too much water in the ice tray, making the cubes too big. These large cubes are clogging up the dispenser. ...

With out the full model number it is hard to say. Most 106 model referigators have a modular ice maker. If you take the cover off of the front of the ice maker and look on the right hand side of the motor module you will notice a small plastic adjustment screw. If you turn this screw you can adjust your water fill time to the ice maker.

Ice Maker Overfills With Water

Ice maker has adjustment on right side of power head. If ice maker is inside on upper left, you can remove white cover from it and the adjusting screw in on right. Turning counter-clockwise will decrease fill by 1/2 to 3/4 of ounce. Sounds like a small amount, but ice make only uses 4 ounces per fill. If this does not fix, try replacing fill valve. If ice maker ice bin is in the freezer door, you have to remove cover to ice maker in the top of freezer. Ice maker is screwed into top of freezer and need to be removed to take off cover to adjuster screw. same procedure for reducing water flow time as above.

What is the + and - for on front of ice maker behind cover.

It's the water fill adjustment, and it adjusts the amount of water coming into the icemaker for each load of ice. If your cubes have gotten smaller, or if they're hard to break apart, you can make a small adjustment with that screw.
