SOURCE: the dc40 collar went off

The first thing to try is changing the battery. Fortunately, you have other collars, so you can borrow a battery from one of those before buying a new one. The instructions are provided in a PDF download produced by Garmin.

While you have the collar open, inspect the connections on the circuit board for cracks or breaks, especially the battery charger jack and battery connections. If you see any broken solder connections, have them repaired by an electronic technician.

Note: the electronic circuitry is vulnerable to damage from static electricity discharge. Don't touch any metal on the circuit board; you're in there just to change the battery and look for problems.

SOURCE: I own 15 garmin dc30

Hi, thanks for posting your Question..

At times you may experience Problems with a Garmin Astro DC30 Collar. I've heard And experienced reports of the following problems with Garmin DC 30 Collars

Before trying to do a Hard Reset for the Garmin Astro 220 DC30 Collar you should try and identify if it is the collar or the 220 Receiver. the easiest way you can do this is to check your Tracking System with another collar. If the second collar works fine then you can assume that you DC30 is not working as it should.

First i would Check all the basics, make sure the collar is charged.

I also would Delete and Re establish the Dog Collar in you system by going to the Dog List on the menu of the Astro 200, I would probably recommend Resetting the 220 receiver since it is much easier to reset that than the Collar.

Lastly, If these do not fix your problem you should try to "reset" the DC30 by

Removing the Back Plate (silver piece)

While Your looking at the connections for the two antennas, I would check to make sure there is nothing wrong with both the GPS antenna connection, and the VHF Antenna on the collar. Personally I carefully disconnect each and make sure they are both clean and free of Debris and Junk. (good Solid connection here will only help the performance of the collar) You can carefully use a brush or electronics contact cleaner for the VHF antenna (Screw mount) (See images below). I would not put anything into the SMP (square Antenna wire connector)

Removing the VHF Antenna on a DC30

Clean this before re-installing. Very Important to have a good Electrical connection3. Remove the Four Small Philips screws on the outside of the case to access the battery and electronics compartment. Very Carefully Disconnect the white battery connector from the board (see images below). Leave the battery Disconnected for about 15-20 minutes for a full reset, Reconnect it to the board.. (CAREFULLY) Here you Can see the battery Connector for the DC 30 Garmin

As you re-assemble the Garmin DC30, Clean all seals and clean antenna connections.

That is A Garmin DC30 Reset Instructions, and Many times when you are having Problems with Garmin DC30 collars this is the First step Garmin will ask you to do before sending them back.

Here is how to Mark a Location other than your location. For example You might want to mark the Tree before you get to it in case your dogs leave the tree. Most of the time If you are like myself You want to Scroll over and Hit the Mark Button, However that will just Mark Your current Location and not the location that your cursor is.

Here are the instructions To mark a location where your cursor is on your Astro 220.

Press map

Scroll the cursor over to the location you want to mark.

Press (ENTER) instead of pressing Mark.

If you press Mark it will mark your current location..

After you press enter.

It will either Select something that you've scrolled over and you should be able to save that as a Location, (Hint: you can change the name to what ever you want before you save it.)

Or if it doesn't select something it will say "no Map info at this point. Do You want to Mark a location here"

I know it's pretty confusing and counter intuitive, But that's how you can mark a location where you are not at.

If your Antenna's are not too OK,you can get a replacement from the below link:

Good luck and thanks for using fixya.

What is turning

Could be a couple of things.

If you are sewing a new collar, turning is done after you've sewn three edges together and then you turn the item so the right sides are out and the raw seams are enclosed inside the collar. Then the collar is attached to the garment using the fourth (unsewn) edge.

How to Sew Collar Points Melly Sews

Or turning on an old, worn garment is when the collar or cuff is unstitched from the shirt and then flipping it over so the worn part is on the underside and the fresh, clean part is facing up (as against the neck edge or, in the case of a cuff, against the arm). This is an idea from the depression era when people wanted to get more use out of an item that was showing wear.

How many collars come with this door opener? I have a few dogs and want to get an automatic door so they can let themselves out.

This door opener works great and comes in many different sizes. However it only comes with one collar so you will have to go on to another site like Amazon to get additional collars they run around $30-$40.

Attached hoses and they are leaking a lot LG washer WM2140CW

Turn off the water supply to the machine and remove the water supply hose(s) from both the machine and the supply taps (US=faucets).

Check that there is a rubber sealing washer in the each end of all hoses and that each washer is undamaged. If the washer is missing then chack on both the supply tap and on the machine inlet connection as it could have got stuck on those items when you disconnected. If any washers cannot be found or are damaged, then replace them. They only cost pennies from any DIY/hardware/plumbing store.

Reconnect the hose(s) and tighten by hand. If you use a wrench it can overtighten and distort or split the sealing washer. Turn on the water supply and check for leaks, if there are any then tighten any leaking connections a bit more by hand.

Other things to check are for split or damaged hoses (unlikely), split or damaged tightening collars on the hoses, or cross-threaded collars. If there is any doubt about the hoses themselves or the connector collars, then replace them. Also check that the leak isn't from the supply taps themselves. If so, then they either need to be replaced, serviced or removed and refitted to the supply pipes. If you find it is a supply tap problem and you need assistance with that issue then please report back for more guidance if you need it.

Note that there is absolutely no need nor benefit in applying PTFE plumbers tape to the hose connection threads. The washer is what does the sealing, and as the hose collars are plastic they're not going to corrode onto any metal supply taps.

I have an 11 year old, single handle shower control that when turned off has dripping. I have taken off the handle, etc and am at the wall. What is the next step or steps?

After you remove the chrome collar and plastic collar washer (behind the faucet handle), pry the beauty plate off the wall. Turn off the house main water supply. Remove the four screws and washer holding the cartridge and valve stem in place. Save the metal washer under the four screws for use with the new cartridge. Replace the stem/cartridge assembly and secure with the saved metal washer and four screws. Reinstall beauty plate, collar & collar washer, then handle.
