Water to the icemaker would not stop flowing

If you have a new valve and the only way to shut it off is to unplug the unit then it would be the water switch in the icemaker, or I'm motor is stuck.

Sounds like the water switch is stuckopen or the valve is. Is the water going to the icemaker or thru the door. If the icemaker is overflowing and doesnt shut off then unplug unit, still coming in change the valve. Not coming in then look at the switch.

I have an amana refrigerator KBRA20EMSS and where water goes into the icemaker is continuously flowing with water. I know the problem is not the water valve or the ice maker. I have a new valve and the same problem persists. I took out the icemaker and it still comes out. I am always getting 120v to the valve and the only way to stop the water from flowing is to turn it off by the t stat or by unplugging it.

Amana side by side icemaker stopped working

The icemaker is not working because the water pressure is too low. An icemaker is controlled by a timer so it has no idea how much water is in it. The water valve gets energized for about 7 seconds letting water in the icemaker, but if there is no water pressure then the icemaker will not fill.

I have a maytag side by side with water in the door, the cold water works but the icemaker doesn't. No water flow into the icemaker, it doesn't appear to be iced up. Can not tell if the selenoid works.

Water not flowing to icemaker

you need to cut your water off unhook the waterline going to the back of your ref. put the waterline in a bucket or something and turn the water back on to see if you have water coming to the ref. if you do its most likely a bad valve if you dont you have a problem where it comes in

Water seems to be flowing into icemaker fine. When I turn on the icemaker the water flows for a few seconds then stops, I have waited to see if the cycle to dump works and it seems as if it never attempts...

If your freezer temperaures are good i.e. it freezes ice cream and the like, then you need to replace trhe icemaker. Typically, under normal conditions, the icemaker would dump a load of cubes @ every 1-1/2 hours. Icemaker part number WR30x10093 @ $148.00 from Marcone Appinace parts or AP Wagner
