Guided input for Distributions

My calculator once had the guided input for distributions. For example when you selected binompdf a table setting came up that said something like n: p: x: and you could fill in the variables. I think the ram was erased from my calculator and now it doesn't have this function. Does anyone know how to turn it back on?

SOURCE: binompdf ( says n:......p:.....x:..... How can I enable this guided input on my TI-84?

In the older versions of the OS, the command binompdf( displays a command line where the user is expected to enter the arguments respecting the syntax of the command. In the more recent versions of the OS (the most recent is 2.55 MP) the user enters the input over three lines.
I suggest you upgrade the OS of your calculator to the latest version available on the education.ti.com website.
To upgrade, insert fresh AA batteries (or just good batteries), run TI connect on your computer, connect the calculator to the computer and click the update button on TI connect main screen. It will download and update the OS.

Binomial Probability Distribution

I have no idea what the problem is about. When you use the key sequence [2nd][VARS] (Distr) the screen shows two tabs at the top DISTR and DRAW. By default the cursor (or highlight) is on the 1st (DISTR>1:normalPdf). Under that TAB you have 15 distributions. Where ever the cursor might be, you can always direct it to select the distribution you are interested in.

How can i calculate probability distributions using stat mode in fx-991ES calculator.

Hello,
Not knowing what kind of probability calculations you want to perform, I can only show you how to access the distributions that this calculator has to offer.
After you enter your data and do the usual statistics, you press SHIFT STAT and select 7:Distr. You get acces to
1: P(
2:Q(
3:R( and
4: X to t, the variate.

See the exemples in the Appendix to the user's manual, in particular #059.

Hope it helps.

I am entering binompdf (3,.25,.75) I then get a domain error. please help

Hello,
Since this is a discrete distribution, you can only calculate it at integer values of the variable. Hence the last argument in the function (0.75) must be an integer. As you gave a decimal number where an integer is required, the calculator returns a domain error.
Hope it helps.

I totally forgot how to do binomial pdf can you help on my TI-84

Hello,
Press the yellow [2nd] key then [VARS] (DISTR) to access the distributions. Scroll Up or down to see 0:binompdf( . Press 0 |ENTER|. The command echoes on the screen as binompdf(. Complete the command by entering the number of trials, the probability of success, and the value expected. Number of trials, and the value expected are integers.
You can also run the command giving it a sequence of expected values. In that case the sequence of expected values must be enclosed in curly brackets
Hope it helps.
